Kanye West fires another divorce attorney ahead of court hearing against Kim

Another one bites the dust.

Kanye West is now onto his fourth divorce attorney, as he’s reportedly fired lawyer Chris Melcher ahead of his Wednesday court hearing against estranged wife Kim Kardashian.

According to TMZ, West, 44, let go of Melcher after their relationship “had become extremely difficult, with little communication.”

Sources told the outlet that West kept changing his mind on whether he wanted to settle things amicably with Kardashian, 41, or put up a fight – much like he did when he objected to her initial divorce demands.

West will instead be repped by attorney Samantha Spector, who recently represented Nicole Young in her divorce from producer Dr. Dre, TMZ reports.

A hearing for West and Kardashian’s ongoing divorce battle has been scheduled for Wednesday, where a judge is expected to make a decision on the reality star’s request to be declared legally single.

TMZ reports that while Kardashian is expected to call in or video chat for the hearing, it’s “highly unlikely” her rapper ex will show up in person.

Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021. They share four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2.

The Skims founder – who has since moved on with “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson – previously slammed West and his inability to keep a lawyer in a statement posted to her Instagram Story last month.

“Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all,” she wrote at the time, in response to West’s since-deleted IG posts.

“It saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way. I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably.”
