Richard Simmons slams Barbra Streisand for asking if Melissa McCarthy is using Ozempic

Richard Simmons is defending Melissa McCarthy after Barbra Streisand asked her if she used Ozempic to slim down.

“I love Melissa McCarthy…. I have seen every one of her movies,” the fitness coach, 75, wrote on his verified Facebook Page Tuesday evening.

“A famous legendary singer, B.S. , made a remark about her weight loss…and was asking if she had used a popular weight loss shot,” he continued. “What a question.”

“I apologize to Melissa for these remarks. And by the way, Melissa you look fabulous!”

Streisand, 83, asked McCarthy, 53, the Ozempic question in a since-deleted Instagram comment on Monday under two photos the comedian posted of herself smiling with “Hairspray” director Adam Shankman.

Fans quickly chastised her for the remark, causing her to defend herself on her Instagram Story Tuesday.

“OMG – I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday!” Streisand wrote.

Ozempic, a Type 2 diabetes drug, and similar medications have been the go-to answer for quick weight loss in Hollywood as of late.

Sharon Osbourne, Tracy Morgan, Tori Spelling, Rebel Wilson and Elon Musk are just a few celebrities who have admitted to using such drugs to shrink their waistlines.
