Sydney Sweeney fans are sounding off on Carol Baum after the top Hollywood producer slammed the Emmy nominee’s looks and acting abilities.
“She’s not pretty, she can’t act,” Baum said during a panel discussion in Pleasantville, NY, last week, while discussing Sweeney’s performance in “Anyone But You” opposite Glen Powell.
“I don’t get Sydney Sweeney,” she added.

Sweeney’s dedicated supporters flooded social media to tear Baum’s uncalled-for comments to shreds.
“Carol Baum is jealous of Sydney Sweeney’s appearance and popularity, two things Baum never possessed,” one person tweeted via X.
“Sydney Sweeney received 2 Emmy nods for acting at age 24 delivered 2 hit films she headlined AND produced at age 26. Carol Baum, with nothing relevant on her resume in 30 years, should sit this one out,” a second person said.

Powell and Sweeney — who was nominated for two Emmys in 2022 for her role in “Euphoria” — made headlines over their light-hearted chick flick after their on-set chemistry sparked affair speculation.

Still, the project garnered tough judgment and a New York Times movie critic went so far as to call the plot “so awkwardly assembled that our attention gets pulled away from the leads to the bizarrely lavish buffet spreads in the background.”
The Will Gluck-directed picture, which originally debuted in theaters in December 2023, will hit streaming platform Netflix on April 23.
