In response to the question, "Who is Meri?," the former wife of Kody Brown described herself as a fun person to be around.

"I’m a dog mom. I’m freaking hilarious. It would be very inappropriate to say I’m a good time, but I am a good time," she said with a laugh.

But things got real when Meri was asked whether she was dating. Meri legally divorced Kody back in 2014 so that he could legally marry his fourth wife, Robyn. Kody and Meri remained "spiritually married" until 2023 when Meri left the family following the departures of fellow sister wives Janelle and Christine Brown.

"Not exclusively," Meri responded when asked if she was dating. "I have gone out on a few dates. Prince Charming has not arrived. I’m actually not looking for a prince. No, I’m looking for a king."

"There’s a bit of an energetic difference there," she continued. "A prince is still a boy. I want a man who knows who he is. I want somebody who knows who he is and who is confident in who he is. Because I know who I am and I’m confident in who I am and I need somebody who matches my energy. When we cross paths, we’ll know it."

The polygamous Brown family have a total of 18 children, including Meri's biological child, Leon. Sadly, her son Garrison passed away in March from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 25.

Since splitting from Kody, Meri has resided in Utah, where she owns a bed-and-breakfast.

Business Insider reported that while Meri initially intended to split her time between Arizona, where the Brown family lives, and Utah, it appears she's remained in Utah full time.

"In a season 18 episode of 'Sister Wives,' Meri discussed her move to Utah with Robyn, remarking that she didn't think Kody would 'give a crap' about her moving to Utah," the publications reported, noting that she "also assured a stressed out Robyn that she'd still maintain a home in Flagstaff, Arizona (where the Brown family has lived for the past few years) and intended to split her time between Flagstaff and Lizzie's Heritage Inn, the bed-and-breakfast she owns in Parowan, Utah."

Although that conversation between Meri and Robyn was filmed approximately one year before Meri and Kody officially announced that they were going their separate ways, sources noted that "it doesn't appear as though she is spending much time, if any, in Flagstaff anymore."

In January, Meri announced in an Instagram post celebrating her 53rd birthday that she had been dating a man named Amos since October 2023.

"He's not 6 foot 6, nor is he a pilot, but he loves Christmas almost as much as I do, and we laugh a lot together, both of which are important elements to a relationship," she wrote in the post's caption, adding, "I've been keeping this kind of close to me as we've been enjoying the last few months of dating and getting to know each other."

Meri also fielded a question about who she was now that she was no longer a sister wife, giving viewers a glimpse into the next chapter of her life.

“Well, Meri was a sister wife and then she divorced. And now she’s not a sister wife... I’ve had a lot of life experiences. So are they asking about all my life experiences? That would take a book,” she said with a wink.
