Adele will be rooting for Rihanna from the sidelines at the 2023 Super Bowl in Arizona on Feb. 12, during the pop star’s highly-anticipated halftime show.
“I’m going just for Rihanna. I don’t give a flying f–k,” the “Easy On Me” singer, 34, told a fan Friday at one of her Las Vegas residency shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Adele and Rihanna, also 34, have been friends for years, so it’s no surprise the “Hello” crooner plans to support her longtime pal.
In 2018, Adele penned an essay for Time 100 about the “Umbrella” singer, saying, “The progression of her superstardom feels steady, well deserved and extremely natural.”
She added at the time, “Even more, she has designed and conquered an entire lane of her own. The innovative and groundbreaking world of Rihanna that no one else will ever be safe in and get away with copying. She makes her own rules and bends ours.”

Although she will only be attending the Super Bowl as a guest, Adele’s name has been brought up as a contender for the halftime show several times in the past.
In 2012, Madonna revealed she wanted the “Rumor Has It” singer to join her onstage for her own halftime performance, which also featured Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., Cee Lo Green and LMFAO.
“I wanted her to be in the Super Bowl with me,” the “Like a Virgin” singer said at the time. “But I think she was having her throat problem or throat operation or something.”
Years later, Adele shared she actually turned down an opportunity to headline the halftime show herself.

“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” the “Someone Like You” singer said at a concert in Los Angeles in 2017.
“I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no.”
She then added, “I’m sorry, but maybe next time.”

However, the “Diamonds” singer has since had a change of heart about the show, and recently said that she is “nervous, but excited” about her upcoming performance.
