Blame Greta Gerwig’s upcoming movie based on Mattel’s iconic toy — starring Margot Robbie in the titular role, and Ryan Gosling as her Ken — or perhaps Valentino’s all-pink-everything collection, but Barbiecore is taking over Hollywood in a big way.
In the past week alone, Megan Fox has stepped out in not one, but two different head-to-toe pink looks, complete with cotton candy-hued hair. Hailey Bieber posed for photos in a corseted mini in the same shocking shade. And Khloé Kardashian celebrated her birthday in a bubblegum-colored latex mini.
The inspiration behind all three stars’ looks, according to members of their respective glam squads? None other than a fashion-forward figurine who’s been around since 1959.

PicturesThe timing of the saccharine-sweet trend — which has racked up more than seven million TikTok views — makes sense, considering we’ve been been treated to a steady drip of paparazzi photos from the set of Gerwig’s live-action “Barbie” flick in recent days. Who could possibly look at snaps of Robbie and Gosling roller-skating in neon workout wear and not want to add some color to their closet?
While Barbie and Ken might be a fictional couple, Fox and fiancé Machine Gun Kelly might as well be our real-life answer to the iconic doll duo.

Meanwhile, Khloé’s not the only Kardashian on board with Barbiecore; sister Kim has been swapping her signature neutral wardrobe for pops of pink, posing on Instagram earlier this month in a Balenciaga hoodie and “pantashoes” in the hot hue. (North West, who snapped the pics and has been known to “complain” when her mom wears “too much black,” may have had a hand in the styling.)
But the brand truly leading the charge on Barbiecore is Valentino, whose fall 2022 collection was almost entirely comprised of fuchsia fashions.
Since debuting on the catwalk, looks in the house’s retina-searing “Pink PP” hue, which was developed in partnership with Pantone, have popped up on the likes of Lizzo, Saweetie, Drew Barrymore and Sebastian Stan, to name but a few.
And while we won’t be able to see “Barbie” on the big screen until July 2023, you don’t have to wait to start thinking (and wearing) pink.
In other words, there’s never been a better time to get all dolled up.
