Rumors were floating around concerning the star football player, who has 23 catches over the course of the season so far. With the Oct. 29 trade deadline swiftly approaching, people were starting to wonder if Beckham Jr.’s time with Cleveland was coming to an abrupt end.
This does not appear to be the case. “That’s fake news,” Browns general manager John Dorsey told ESPN Sunday. He told the outlet that “he has not taken any trade calls on Beckham, is not interested in taking any calls and hasn't even thought about trading him.”
The Browns have struggled to a 2-3 record this season. There was a ton of hype surrounding the team and its quarterback Baker Mayfield. But the team has underwhelmed, which has led many to wonder if the team was open to shopping Beckham Jr. around.
The former New York Giant has been a loyal teammate despite the lackluster season. He recently shut down critics in the media who had negative things to say about his quarterback.
"I would just encourage everyone who talks about Baker in the media to keep antagonizing him. Keep making him mad because that’s what you’re going to get," Beckham said last week. "This is somebody who’s been fueled off of that all his life, and the more you poke fun at him, the more he’s going to poke back. So I just love to see him in his element and just being him."
