During his recent Amsterdam show, Springsteen experienced a fall while performing for his fans, per Daily Mail. The 73-year-old had turned around to climb the stairs toward where his backup was positioned but tripped midway.

Springsteen, dressed in all black, was still holding on to his guitar when he fell and rolled onto his back in full view of fans.

His concerned colleagues promptly rushed over to assist him, with one of them removing his instrument as they hoisted Bruce back onto his feet.

It was unclear whether the stress from his performance led to the fall or whether it was just merely accidental. Fortunately, Bruce wasn’t injured from the fall, as he grinned after being lifted off the floor.

Following that, he addressed the crowd, saying, “Good night, everyone!” then raised his hand and started a new song.

He Previously Faced Backlash Over Ticket Price

Bruce is on the road for his latest tour, “Springsteen and E Street Band,” 2023 Tour.

There are 37 shows on his tour, spread over 32 cities. Landgraaf, Netherlands; Zurich, Switzerland; and Birmingham, United Kingdom, will be his locations.

While the turnout at the locations he has performed at has been great, there were previously many complaints about the pricing of the tickets.

In November 2022, Springsteen responded to the backlash from fans, saying that his tickets were affordable.

“They’re in that affordable range. We have those tickets that will go for that [higher] price somewhere anyway. The ticket broker or someone is going to be taking that money. I’m going, ‘Hey, why shouldn’t that money go to the guys that are going to be up there sweating three hours a night for it?'” he said, per the New York Post.

Bruce Springsteen Slammed For Holding Show In Disaster-Hit Region

The singer recently faced another round of criticism for still holding his concert in the disaster-hit Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, per Daily Mail.

The region on the country’s northern side was flooded by rainstorms, causing several deaths, landslides, and broken riverbanks. In addition, several towns and villages were left isolated by the effects of the downpour, which destroyed several properties.

Some local leaders thought the performance was disrespectful to those still in shock over the tragedy. Up to 50,000 concertgoers were expected to attend. However, due to significant flooding, many were unable to do so.

Italian TV presenter Tiziana Ferrario commented on Twitter about Springsteen’s action, saying, “I love Bruce Springsteen, but given the victims and the towns submerged by mud, the Ferrara concert seems out of tune.”

He added, “Once [upon a time], you would shovel and help who was buried in mud rather than sing and dance thoughtlessly in the same area.”

Hate him or love him, Springsteen has impacted the music industry and recently got rewarded with his holiday in New Jersey.

The holiday was assigned to Springsteen’s birthday and will be officially known as “Bruce Springsteen Day.”

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy announced the inaugural American Music Honors Awards last month at the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University.

“Bruce Springsteen is one of the most recognizable, iconic and influential musicians — and New Jerseyans — of all time,” Murphy told the press, per New York Post.

“It is important that we recognize Bruce for all he has done and will continue to do, from giving us the gift of his music to lending his time to the causes close to his heart.”
