This is surely still only the start of the casting process for the Salem's Lot movie, as fans of the book will note that there are still a number of important characters who go unmentioned in this article thus far. We are still awaiting the news of who will be playing the two principal antagonists in the film – the sinister Richard Straker and the demonic Kurt Barlow – and on the hero side of the morality scale the project is seemingly still looking for the right actors to play young horror enthusiast Mark Petrie and Father Donald Callahan. As noted earlier, we will continue to update this feature as more names are announced.
Given the rate at which actors are joining the Salem's Lot cast, it would be unsurprising if the film managed to get into production before the end of the year, but that schedule has not yet been confirmed. It should additionally be noted that the project is set up at New Line Cinema, but the studio has not yet announced a release date.
