DJ Envy is insisting that rappers need protection for their jewelry after another rapper, PnB Rock was murdered for their chains.
DJ Envy Insures His Valuables
The co-host of the popular “The Breakfast Club” morning show got serious about the state of rap culture today and the lengths that artists should now go to secure their valuables, further possibly saving their own lives.
“It’s sad,” claimed Envy who was spotted at LAX. “When I do move With my jewelry, I move with protection.”
He went on to further the gauge reference of protection. “Protection could be security, self-protection, or it could be just making sure I’m safe.”
Envy notes that there ate just some places he will never go with valuables on. “When I do move in certain places, I leave my stuff at home. I got six kids and a wife, so I want to make sure I make it back to them.”

“Nobody should ever want to take somebody’s life away for a piece of metal, a piece of jewelry, over some diamonds, or a watch. It’s not right, “ he states referencing the “I Like Girls” rapper.
Unfortunately, the hip-hop community sees showing off their chains and diamonds as part of the culture. It’s an expression of their creativity, some of these pieces are unique and while they seem gaudy, they hold sentimental value as well as monetary.
Envy pleaded with the community. “As a community, we have to make sure we watch each other’s backs… look out for each other.” As opposed to attacking one another over material things.
PnB Rock Was Allegedly Murdered Over A Chain
Instagram/PnB RockRapper PnB Rock was enjoying a mean when he was gunned down in front of his longtime girlfriend and patrons of the restaurant. The attackers took his watch and left him for dead. Envy expressed his disgust with the way things went down.
“All this senseless killing over a watch, it’s nothing. You took that man’s jewelry, and you’ll spend the rest of your days in jail when you’re caught.” He said confidently. “That ain’t right, it ain’t worth it. Not over no piece of jewelry.”
Envy reiterated that when he does have anything of value on, he has security with him. “Other than that, I know what it is, the streets are ruthless right now and people are looking for come-ups, anyway they can get it.”
