Easter weekend weather: Ireland set to sizzle as temperatures soar to 20C

We're in for another wet and windy day today, but thankfully the bad weather won't last forever.

This Easter weekend is set to be dry and sunny, with temperatures soaring as high as 20C.

The rain will finally start to clear up tomorrow, with bright or sunny spells extending countrywide during the afternoon and evening.

Top temperatures will reach 9 to 12 degrees in Ulster and northeast Leinster, 13 to 15 degrees elsewhere.

Then on Wednesday temperatures will continue to improve, with values of 15 or 16 degrees over the Midlands and west of the country, but it will still be cool along the Leinster, east-Ulster and south-Munster coast due to onshore southeast winds.

Thursday will stay pleasant, heating up to 17 or 18C, but Friday will be the best day.

We're in for an extremely Good Friday with the mercury hitting 16 to 20C.

The west and the midlands will see the highest temperatures, with Dublin lagging a bit behind at 14C.
