Florence Pugh insisted that she is “grateful” to have made “Don’t Worry Darling” after a report claimed she and Olivia Wilde, her director and co-star, got into a “screaming match” on set.
“It’s here.. and ready to be seen. @dontworrydarling is in cinemas!” Pugh, 26, wrote in a Friday Instagram post to celebrate the movie’s theater debut.
“We met so many talented people, visited some insane locations, worked hard in the desert dust and looked good whilst doing so.”
The actress’ post was accompanied by a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos from the scandal-plagued film, including a snap of herself dancing in character with Wilde, 38.
“Thank you to all those who have bought tickets and those who have already seen it – whenever I watch massive impressive movie moments on massive screens I always remind myself that there is a boom just inches from the frame I’m watching,” Pugh continued.
“Or marks on the floor just below the actors waists. It’s crazy to think that each set up and scene takes a large portion of a day to execute, and on this one.. there was a lot to execute! Explosions, car chases, cocktail balancing, underwater sequences, running, drinking, more running..”
The UK native ended her post by describing “Don’t Worry Darling” as “such an epic story on such a large scale to shoot,” adding that she was particularly thankful to work on it during a “peak” time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“For that I will always be grateful. To all of you who helped make this, your dedication and love was seen daily – thank you,” she concluded. “With that, here are some pics I took from this time. More to come!”
Wilde also acknowledged the movie’s wide release via Instagram Friday.
“Don’t Worry Darling is officially open,” she captioned a photo of herself posing with boyfriend and co-star Harry Styles, screenwriter Katie Silberman and Pugh. “Aaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!”
On Friday, Vulture published a report with an unnamed insider — who purportedly spent “significant time” on the set of the psychological thriller — claiming that a “blowout argument” took place between Pugh and Wilde in January 2021.
Leading up to the alleged fight, Pugh reportedly grew frustrated with Wilde’s “frequent, unexplained absences” — which may have had something to do with Wilde’s then-new relationship with Styles, 28.
“Olivia and Harry would just disappear,” the insider claimed to the site.

Reps for Wilde and Pugh have not returned Page Six’s requests for comment.
Page Six broke the news in July that Pugh was unhappy over Wilde and Styles’ romance.
“I can tell you for a fact that Flo seeing Olivia and Harry all over each other on set did not go down well as Olivia was still with Jason when she first hooked up with Harry,” a source told us at the time, referring to Wilde’s ex, “Ted Lasso” actor Jason Sudeikis.
The feud ignited when Wilde claimed she fired Shia LaBeouf as the film’s male lead and replaced him with Styles to make sure Pugh felt “safe” and “supported.”
Pugh reportedly got into a “screaming match” with Wilde while filming in January 2021. APThe “Transformers” star, 36, then released a series of emails via Variety in August that claimed he was the one who walked away.
LaBeouf also sent a video he received from Wilde, in which she begged him to stay on the film and appeared to slight Pugh, saying, “I think this might be a bit of a wake-up call for Miss Flo.”
Pugh subsequently skipped opportunities to promote the film, including a Venice Film Festival Press conference and its New York City premiere.
“Don’t Worry Darling” is in theaters now.
