Gardaí issue witness appeal following fatal motorbike crash in Galway

The incident took place on Sunday.


Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision that took place in Renmore on Sunday, 12 September.

A male motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, was seriously injured after his motorbike collided with a car on the Old Dublin Road at Renmore Park shortly after 10am on Sunday morning.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.


The crash site was subsequently examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with the road closed off to traffic for a time before later being fully re-opened.


The victim was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway.


Gardaí investigating the incident have appealed for witnesses to come forward.


They are also appealing to anyone who was travelling on the Old Dublin Road at the time of the crash that may have any camera footage – including dash cam footage – to come forward.
