Gayle King: Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ scandal is ‘very messy,’ ‘sloppy’

Gayle King said “Good Morning America” and “GMA3” have become “very messy” and “sloppy” since T.J. Holmes’ numerous affairs, including one with co-anchor Amy Robach, have come to light.

The “CBS This Morning” co-anchor initially stood by her two colleagues in news, but then told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” Thursday that it began to fall apart.

“In the beginning I actually thought, good on ‘Good Morning America.’ They’re saying they’re not taking them off the air. It’s two consenting adults,” King began.

“But then the more you read, it’s just very messy,” she said, referencing the fact that Robach and Holmes each had spouses when their affair began.

“I think, to me, it’s just a sad situation because you’ve got kids involved, you’ve got families involved, and I keep thinking about that. I’m very concerned about that,” King, 67, explained.

ABC News took Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, off of “GMA3” this week as the “messy” details of Holmes’ personal life began to unfold.

While Robach is close to finalizing her divorce from now-estranged husband Andrew Shue, Page Six broke the news that Holmes’ wife, Marilee Fiebig, was “blindsided” by his affair because not only had they had been attempting to reconcile, but Fiebig also had previously kept her focus on her husband’s other affair with another “GMA” producer named Natasha Singh.

“She fell in love with him. He had a key to her apartment,” an insider told us of Singh’s romance with Holmes.

Unfortunately, neither Holmes nor Singh appear to be the sole apples of his eye, as we also broke the news that he allegedly cheated on Fiebig with multiple ABC staffers. In light of the shocking news, ABC News now has decided to investigate Holmes’ behavior to see if it violated company policy.

“It’s one thing for him to have a relationship with another anchor,” said an insider. “The question is whether he violated company rules by dating less senior employees.”
