Harry and Katherine LeFrak set to be society’s next mega-divorce

Just as we’re catching our breath after the Macklowes’ and Mugrabis’ multibillion-dollar matrimonial meltdowns, Page Six hears there’s another mega-divorce in the offing.

Sources say real estate mogul Harrison LeFrak — who is reliably on the Forbes list of the richest Americans — is splitting from his wife, Greek shipping heiress Katherine Embiricos LeFrak, who is worth — literally — a fortune.

“Katherine is devastated,” an insider shares, though another source says the couple mutually came to the decision to separate and that neither one of them initiated it.

The pair had a son in 2019. A source says they married within the last five years.

A spokesperson for the family tells us, “This is a family matter that should be resolved privately and amicably in the best interests of a young child, and Mr. LeFrak will do everything possible to reach that resolution. He is saddened that other parties have chosen to discuss this publicly.”

Harrison, known as Harry in society circles, is the fourth generation of his family to run the vast LeFrak real estate operation.

According to Forbes, his great-grandfather — also named Harry — started the firm in 1901 when he bought a 120-acre farm in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

“His son Sam entered the family business and helped fuel massive expansion as the post-War construction boom flourished,” the money mag writes.

The family firm famously owns the vast LeFrak City in Queens as well as commercial real estate all over the country.

Harrison and his brother, James, are now co-managing directors of the company, which is helmed by their father, Richard LeFrak.

As of 2015, Forbes said the LeFraks were worth $6.6 billion, making them the 44th richest family in America.

Katherine, meanwhile, is an heir to the Embiricos Greek shipping fortune. Her sprawling family has been in the industry for generations.
