Real Housewives of Potomac newbie Mia Thornton has shared with her Instagram followers that she is battling cancer. The reality star posted details of the diagnosis with her followers in a lengthy post this week.
Mia Thornton Diagnosed with Cancer
“Same time last week, Doc called at 7:31am — Mia I’m so sorry but your test results came back and I need you to go to Johns Hopkins Cancer Center today for further evaluation,” shared the mom of two with a selfie of her smiling bright.
“You can only imagine the overwhelming amount of emotion G and I endured trying to figure out why,” she shared naming her husband Gordon. “However, even with such terrible news, I felt an extreme amount of peace and energy instilled that allowed me to remain strong.”
“I’ve been in and out of visits to specialists every day and the storm is not over but this experience is changing me,” noted the 37-year-od who was often criticized on the show for talking about all her material gains.
Real Housewives Star Is Staying Strong
Thornton assured her fans that she is being optimistic. “I am working with a phenomenal team of physicians, and I appreciate the outpouring of support. I have not been diagnosed as yet so please keep me in prayer.”
While she is currently undergoing treatment she did not clarify what stage her cancer is in and chose to keep private details about the diagnosis private. “I know God has a plan and I know we are often challenged to remain humbled that tomorrow is not promised and that our days on this earth are numbered.”
The chiropractor clinic business owner ended her message by sharing that she is concerned but pushing forward. “A message from my heart. A gentle reminder to Live, Love & Forgive as if today was your last.”
While Thornton was not her castmate’s favorite individual she admittedly added life to the show and they want to make sure she knows they support her.
Mia Thornton Receives Support From Bravolebrities
The entrepreneur’s comment section was full of love and support from very familiar names. “Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong mama,” wrote one-half of the green-eyed bandits, Robyn Dixon.
Sheree Whitfield who is set to return to the Real Housewives of Atlanta’s upcoming season also shows some love to Thornton, “Keeping u in my prayers!!” other housewives that posted well wishes for Thornton included RHONY Eboni K. Williams.
Not far behind was Cynthia Bailey, Monique Samuels, Drew Sidora, Tamra Judge, and show co-creator Carlos King.
Cancer Has Touched Many Bravo Celebs
Thornton has a lot of Bravo friends to turn to in her time of need. Unfortunately, other housewives of their loved ones have had to deal with the non-discriminatory disease. NeNe Leakes’ late husband Gregg Leakes passed away from colon cancer.
Kyle Richards got a mammogram on TV because of a possible lump and her mother passing from breast cancer. Camille Grammar battled cancer on RHOBH, and Tamra Judge dealt with skin cancer.
No word yet if Thornton will be returning to the next season of RHOP but if she does, surely her battle will be shared with fans of the show.
