Suzanne Somers reveals how much money she made from ThighMaster

Chrissy Snow is not so ditzy after all.

Astute businesswoman Suzanne Somers revealed in a new interview that her ThighMaster has earned her a massive chunk of change over the years.

“Well, I grew up poor, and I live a good life,” the “Three’s Company” alum, 75, coyly told hosts Dax Holt and Adam Glyn on the “Hollywood Raw” podcast Wednesday.

Somers then provided more exact figures, sharing, “It’s $19.95 x 10 million [products sold], so you kind of do the math, and we’re probably at 15 million now.”

Holt figured out the total on his calculator, which comes close to $300 million just off the iconic workout device alone.

“I know,” Somers said as the host gasped in awe. “All because of a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes.”

In August 2020, the “Breakthrough” author explained more in-depth to Entrepreneur magazine just how the Spanish designer shoes helped market the ThighMaster.

Somers said she once walked out of her dressing room wearing a pair of Manolo Blahniks, and her husband, Alan Hamel, told her, “Great legs,” sparking the idea for the ThighMaster’s commercial.

“We sold 10 million ThighMasters right out of the gate,” the “Step by Step” alum told the mag. “It still sells to this day even though we don’t advertise.”

Somers also shared on “Hollywood Raw” how she and Hamel, 85, came to be the sole owners of the product.

“We had partners, 50-50, and they got drunk on money when it all started selling,” she explained. “They overspent to the point where they could no longer afford to be in their side of business, so we bought them out. We have 100 percent.”

Somers shared that having a passion for her product has helped her become successful.

“I can’t sell baseball bats,” she said. “But I wanted to keep my legs looking great to support those Manolo Blahnik shoes, so there was a weird but, kind of, strange passion there.”

The actress concluded, “For someone who has played the dumbest blond on television, I have a really good brain.”

Aside from the original ThighMaster, a ThighMaster system that consists of the leg-sculpting tool, a ButtMaster and instructional DVD also retails on Somers’ website for $74.99, presumably adding even more to the TV icon’s overall net worth.

She has also gone on to write more than a dozen books, including two autobiographies.
