Prince Harry, Meghan & kids will be at Queen’s Jubilee — but hidden

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will join Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations with their children, their spokesperson confirmed to Page Six Friday.

After weeks of speculation, the couple confirmed they will take their son Archie, 3, and 11-month-old Lilbet to London in June.

It means that the queen, who just turned 96, will finally get to meet her namesake great-granddaughter (Her Majesty’s childhood nickname was Lilibet), who was born in California last June.

A spokesperson for the couple told Page Six: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are excited and honored to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children.”

However, the young family will not appear with the queen, Prince Charles, William and Kate, and other working members of the royal family for the official public appearance and photo op on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

“After careful consideration, the Queen has decided this year’s traditional trooping the colour balcony appearance on Thursday, 2 June, will be limited to Her Majesty, and those members of the royal family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen,” according to a palace statement.

This also means scandalized Prince Andrew, removed from public duties in the wake of a sexual-assault suit and settlement, will not be appearing.

This week there were more rumors that Harry and Meghan would not make it as he has signed up to play polo for the Los Padres’ full season in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The London trip means that baby Lili may also get to meet her cousins for the first time. Harry’s older brother, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton, have three children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and 4-year–old Prince Louis.

During a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Harry admitted a rift had developed in his relationship with his brother, saying, “Time heals all things, hopefully.”

So far, Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their 1-year-old son August are the only members of the royal family to have met Lili. The family stayed with the Sussexes at their Montecito home in February.

Harry and Markle visited the queen, as well as his father Prince Charles, at Windsor Castle last month en route to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands. It was the couple’s first time seeing Harry’s grandmother since leaving the UK — and their royal duties — in March 2020.

Harry last month caused a stir with his comments about his grandmother in an interview with “Today” co-host Hoda Kotb, saying: “I’m just making sure that she’s, you know, protected and got the right people around her.”

This week, the palace announced the frail queen will not attend any of the upcoming garden parties at Buckingham Palace, with her family standing in for her.
