It looks like that new top-secret Batman: Arkham game will be revealed very soon

The rumoured title also gives some indication of what to expect from the plot.

A few months ago, the first rumours began circulating that a new Arkham game was on the way, following on from what many perceived to be the end of the practically perfect Arkham Trilogy with Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015.

We're pretending Batman: Arkham Origins doesn't exist and you all should, too.

Anyways, rumour had it that the game would be officially announced at the PlayStation State of Play event on Tuesday 24 September, which obviously never happened.

Now the rumour mill is cranking up again, with Push Square reporting that the game will now officially be unveiled at the Game Awards, set to take place on Thursday 12 December.

Along with one of the six nominees for Game Of The Year, the awards ceremony has also become a regular platform for big new releases so it would stand to reason that a new Batman game would be announced there.

That same report also claims that the new game will be titled Batman: Arkham Legacy, which definitely does feed into the reported villains of the game, which was be based on the Court Of Owls arc from the comics.

In that story, Batman - and the readers - was first introduced to the shadowy organisation that actually secretly runs all of Gotham, proving to be the Dark Knight's biggest challenge in decades.

We're also trying to suppress the fear that Arkham Legacy apparently doesn't come from the developers behind Asylum, City or Knight, but from the folks behind... yep, Arkham Origins.

While all of this is hearsay at the moment, the one thing we do know for a fact is that Kevin Conroy, who has voiced Batman and Bruce Wayne in games, in movies and on TV since 1992 has not been asked back for the role, which he exclusively revealed to JOE.
