One of her earliest interviews about this was after filming “U-Turn.” She was still relatively new in Hollywood when she got a role in this movie.

The actress revealed that she was told to go topless but tried crying to the movie director to avoid it. The director proved he was a hard hat himself and refused to budge.

Lopez Once Said She Wouldn’t Work With Oliver Stone

Lopez once almost worked with “U-Turn” director Oliver Stone. In her 1998 interview with Movieline, the actress revealed that she met him during an audition for a Manuel Noriega Project that stayed in the drafts. Her first impression of the director wasn’t good, and she even referred to him as unprofessional.

“The minute I began reading this long four-page scene, he started walking around the room,” she said. “Then he began rearranging the furniture. I’m like, ‘What is he doing? This is so rude. Well, he rearranged his entire office, and when I finished, the casting director said, ‘Oliver?’ And he turns and goes, ‘Oh–um, OK. So you’re a regular on that TV series? And I go, ‘Yeah.’ And I left.”

This happened before her success with “Selena” in 1997, and after that, the director reached out to her again. He wanted her to star in one of his films, and she agreed; the two hit it off.

“I just went in there, and we hit it off, and I flirted with him, got tough with him, and he just loved it.” The singer ended up starring in Stone’s “U-Turn.”

Lopez Cried To Avoid Going Topless

Female First revealed that the actress cried to the director because she didn’t want to do a topless scene, but the director refused. “The sex scenes were bad. It was hard being the only woman on set with all those strong men,” Lopez said. “I just started crying and fighting. But Oliver was like, ‘Take off your top.'”

The 51-year-old explained that she tried to finesse the situation by telling the director that her character could just wear a nightgown instead of going nude, but it fell on deaf ears.

Lopez added that she said, “This is not in the script. What are you talking about?” But Stone ended up convincing her to do it because it was essential to the movie’s plot. Although the actress disagreed with him then, she certainly did while recounting the story.

Lopez Would Have Dated Sean Penn If She Wasn’t Engaged

In the infamous interview with Movieline, the actress revealed that if she weren’t already engaged to someone else, she would have had a go at Sean Penn, her “U-Turn” co-star. Lopez spoke about how the actor impressed her with his strength and chemistry on stage.

According to the Irish Examiner, the 51-year-old revealed that Penn was her favorite on-screen kiss in 2002. When asked who she would possibly take things up with, Lopez mentioned Penn and revealed that they had even discussed the possibility.

“Should I get myself in trouble with my husband? OK, in a parallel universe, Sean,” Lopez admitted. “I was engaged when we were shooting U-Turn, and one day he said, ‘If I weren’t married and you weren’t engaged, would this have been a very different movie?’ And I go, ‘Yeah! Very different.’ So we kind of… well, we both had our own lives, so that made a real difference.”
