Bindi Irwin has discovered more gratitude toward her mother and “superwoman,” Terri while parenting her adorable daughter Grace Warrior Irwin Powell.
Bindi welcomed the beautiful toddler with her loving husband, fellow conservationist and zookeeper Chandler Powell, in March, one year ago.
The loving mother got candid about how much love and respect she has for her matriarch, who raised her and her younger brother Robert following her father’s passing.
Parenthood Inspires Bindi Irwin To Be More Grateful To Mother Terri
MEGAIn a cover story with PEOPLE, Bindi spoke candidly about how raising a daughter filled her with a newfound appreciation for Terri.
The 23-year-old lost her loving dad Steve Irwin to a sudden passing in 2006. Her mother then took charge of raising her and Robert, who were 8-years-old and 2-years-old.
Bindi praised Terri’s positive qualities and detailed how much she is enamored by her, saying:
“I probably tell my mom how much I appreciate everything she did on an hourly basis. Dad passed away when we were very little. She is such a strong person, and she had to raise me and Robert mostly on her own.”
The “Crikey! It’s the Irwins” star said that she cannot begin to put into words the “volume of respect and pride and gratefulness” she has for her matriarch.
The late Steve skyrocketed to worldwide prominence with his wildlife docuseries, “Crocodile Hunter.” Amid shooting an underwater episode on September 4, 2006, titled “Ocean’s deadliest,” he lost his life while diving with stingrays.
Bindi said that her mother helped bring up two children while successfully handling the affairs of Australia Zoo on a worldwide scale and making sure her Dad’s legacy continued.
The “Return To Nim’s Island” star gushed, “I am speechless. I don’t know how she did it all. She’s such a strong superwoman.”

Bindi and her husband raise their beautiful daughter at the picturesque Australia Zoo, where they work and reside with Terri and Robert.
The “Free Willy: Escape From Pirate’s Cove” star feels lucky to have a wonderful support system around her but is in no hurry to expand her family.
Bindi noted that she and her spouse have their hands full with raising their 13-month-old daughter, so giving her a sibling is not yet possible. She said:
“Between everything we have going on at Australia Zoo and with Wildlife Warriors, our nonprofit organization, and keeping up with Grace, I don’t know if we could juggle another one. Not at the moment. I don’t think I have enough arms!”
The Blast shared that the TV Personality previously opened up about how motherhood has changed her views and makes her feel like she is a different person.
Bindi spoke about her thoughts and how she is responsible for empowering Grace in a candid interview with Daily Telegraph. She said:
“Becoming a mother changes your perspective on life, and being a girl mother brings its own set of obstacles. I feel a huge responsibility to raise our daughter to be an empowered woman.”
The “Bindi’s Bootcamp” star revealed that Grace has learned how to call her parents “Mama” and “Dada.”
Powell also noted that the toddler is highly energetic. He joked, “At almost one, Grace has reached that stage where she’s crawling like it’s an Olympic sport and almost walking.”

Grace is getting better at walking each day, as seen in a touching upload Bindi made to her social media handle last month.
In April, The Blast disclosed that the loving mother posted a photo of her beautiful offspring practicing her walk and enjoying her passion at the renowned Australia Zoo.
Bindi shared the image via her Instagram page, which showed Grace standing straight while clutching her mother’s fingers with one tiny and adorable hand.
The proud mom revealed that her daughter had enjoyed the day playing with the many interesting creatures at the zoo.
The “Bindi the Jungle Girl” star typed in the caption of her post, “Evenings at Australia Zoo with my little love.”
The renowned wildlife conservationist also treated fans to a delightful clip of the milestone moment Grace took her first steps.
The heartwarming Instagram video showed the little warrior teetering into the camera’s view with a wide grin. She approached Powell, who was cheering her on, saying, “Good walking.”
The adorable toddler got distracted by something off view and stopped, but her parents kept cheering her on until the end of the clip.
Bindi proudly captioned the sweet interaction she and her loving partner had with their offspring, “Big moment,” with a blue emoji.
