Kenan Thompson Officially Files For Divorce From Estranged Wife Christina Evangeline

“Saturday Night Live” star Kenan Thompson legally filed for a divorce from his wife, Christina Evangeline. The couple got married 11 years ago and reportedly started living separately a year and some months before the decision to get a divorce.

While the duo stayed married for over a decade and had two children as a result of the union, they lead vastly different lives. Thompson spent most of his years in the public eye both as a child star and in his current position as the longest-running “SNL” star; Evangeline specialized as an interior designer.

According to recent reports, Thompson drew up legal papers to end the marriage. The couple decided on a 50/50 custody arrangement for their daughters and will live within a short distance from each other in New York to make the process easier.

Thompson officially filed for divorce to end his marriage with his estranged wife, Evangeline. According to documents acquired by TMZ, the comedian reportedly made the move to officially end things in May in New York.

The documents also revealed that Thompson wants a 50/50 custody split for his daughters, Georgia Marie, seven, and three-year-old Gianna Michelle. A source said, “Kenan and Christina agreed to split custody. They’re still close as co-parents and they plan on spending holidays together and celebrate their daughters’ birthdays as a family.”

Back in April, the news platform revealed that the couple had separated, however, were still co-parenting the girls. The duo currently lives close to each other in New York to ensure that their kids’ custody arrangement and co-parenting go smoothly.

According to the US Weekly, they still maintained a close relationship during the separation, “They remain close as co-parents and have remained very close throughout the separation,” they said. “[They] are completely amicable. There’s nothing juicy about why they split.”

The duo reportedly decided on the move after their separation and simply cited growing apart as the reason. They also said that they both wanted “different things” now. Although they were separated for over a year, Thompson reportedly saw Evangeline almost every day. A source confirmed that they regularly went to dinners, “just the two of them.”

“He looked like he was having so much fun,” they said. “He emceed the start of the show before John Legend performed and brought his drink on stage and kept saying how he was just ‘chillin’.” He was also overheard telling an attendee that he was doing “good.”

He reportedly kept his sunglasses on for the duration of the event and during the after-party. There he was seen conversing with people like Mayor Eric Adams, Vanessa Hudgens, John Legends, Cara Delevingne, and several others.

Thompson recently wrapped up his 19th season on “SNL,” and some of his more popular sketches include “Black Jeopardy!,” “What’s Up With That?,” “Family Feud,” and several others. He also released a titular sitcom based on his life which premiered on NBC last year.
