Woman aged in her 50s dies following Monaghan road collision

The incident took place at around 5am on Monday morning.


A woman aged in her 50s has died following a single-vehicle road traffic collision that took place in Monaghan on Monday morning, 20 September.

The crash occurred at approximately 5am on the Roslea Road out of Clones.

The woman in question was a passenger in a car that contained three other people. Two men aged in their 20s and a woman aged in her 30s have been taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment.


Their injuries are said to be not life-threatening.


At time of writing on Monday morning, the road is closed off so that Gardaí may conduct a technical examination of the scene.


Local diversions have been put in place.


Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses. Anyone travelling on the Roslea Road and/or the Largy townland area between 4am and 5am who may have witnessed the collision, particularly those with dash cam footage, is asked to come forward.
