Kim Kardashian taking the ‘high road’ amid ‘challenges’ of Kanye West divorce

Kim Kardashian says she’s trying to take the “high road” amid her messy divorce from Kanye West.

“I’ll always be protective. I always want my kids to just see the best of the best. So I just try to — as hard as it can be sometimes — I do try to ignore it and just try to do whatever’s best for the kids,” the reality star said during her appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” referencing West’s recent social media antics.

“I always saw such a good example in my mom and my dad in their relationship, so I’m always just hopeful. And no matter what goes on, [Kanye’s] the father of my kids.”

Kardashian, 41, filed for divorce from West, 44, in February 2021 and was declared legally single from the rapper earlier this month. They share four kids: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2.

The Skims founder told DeGeneres, 64, that she tries to look at her and West’s current struggles as life lessons.

“As hard as it is, I try to sit still sometimes and say, ‘OK, what is this lesson? What am I meant to learn from it, and how can I just get through it?’” she explained. “I know that seems super zen but it’s really what I do.”

She added, “I used to care so much about narratives and what’s true and what’s not true … I just live my life the way I think is right and just push forward and do the best that I can.”

Kardashian’s interview with DeGeneres aired just days after West got into a heated text exchange with the reality star’s new boyfriend, Pete Davidson.

“Yo it’s Skete. Can you please take a second and calm down. It’s 8am and it don’t gotta be like this,” the “Saturday Night Live” funnyman texted West on Sunday, shortly after the rapper went on a rant about Kardashian’s parenting skills via Instagram.

“Kim is literally the best mother I’ve ever met. What she does for those kids is amazing and you are so f–king lucky that she’s your kids mom,” Davidson continued.

“I’ve decided im not gonna let you treat us this way anymore and I’m done being quiet. Grow the f**k up.”

The “Gold Digger” rapper responded, “Oh you using profanity now. Where are you right now?”

“In bed with your wife,” Davidson, 28, clapped back, accompanying his text with a photo of himself shirtless under the covers.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted what appeared to be a “Kim” tattoo on Davidson’s chest in the selfie, which she spoke about during her interview with DeGeneres.

“[It] isn’t a tattoo, it’s actually a branding. Because he wanted to do something that was really different,” Kardashian confirmed.

“He has a few tattoos, a few cute ones, that he got.”

Kardashian and Davidson were first romantically linked in October 2021 after she hosted “SNL.” The two finally went Instagram-official earlier this month after Kardashian was declared legally single.
