‘Love Is Blind’ Cast Reunites: Here’s What Went Down

‘Love Is Blind’ Cast Reunites: Here’s What Went Down

It is probably a huge understatement to say the cast of Netflix’s “Love Is Blind” have all experienced a myriad of emotions over the course of the last few weeks!

The surprising season two finale dropped on Friday, February 25th.

In the week following the finale, which featured two couples saying “I do,” and three couples who made the decision not to put a ring on it, social media exploded with reactions to the highly chaotic finale!

The chaos included, and was certainly not limited to Deepti Vempati making the decision not to go through with her wedding to Abhishek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee, after listening to her intuition and choosing her self-worth over a future with a man who… chose to compare being intimate with her to being with his aunt?!

Natalie Lee and Shayne Jansen’s relationship before making their way to the altar was largely ruled by the couple’s incredibly different personalities, and the looming presence of Jansen’s pod era relationship with Shaina Hurley, who got engaged to, and quickly split up with Kyle Abrams.

Hurley and Jansen stayed in touch after Abrams had proposed to Hurley and she accepted the proposal, despite looking visibly hesitant every time cameras panned to her. Her communication throughout the process with Jansen provided a lot of drama for the pair!

Lee ultimately declined to say “I do” to Jansen after the couple had a colossal argument on the eve of their wedding, which ultimately sealed the deal in helping Lee come to her decision not to say “yes” to Jansen.

What Happened During The Reunion?

The highly anticipated reunion episode did not waste a single second before immediately showcasing the immense amount of tension among the cast members, and for good reason!

Chatterjee’s aforementioned inability to find the physical connection he desired with his former fiancée and his comments both on camera and in the aftermath of the finale airing, fueled a lot of the visible discomfort between the cast.

Chatterjee began the reunion expressing concern over the way he would be edited, and inspired many visible reactions around the couch, where hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey joined the cast.

Chatterjee’s heated opening wouldn’t be the last time the cast would negatively and visibly react to his comments throughout the show.

Various cast members can audibly be heard whispering reactions to his unfiltered and unlimited opinions!

One of Chatterjee’s opinions in particular landed him and kept him in the hot seat with both Nick and Vanessa.

While attempting to defend his controversial opinions about physical attraction, he revealed the only woman he was physically attracted to was Lachey, who immediately pointed out she “Had done nothing but berate” Chatterjee, before dropping the mic when she finished her statement with, “That’s a messed up relationship.”

Yes, There Were Apologies!

Not every single aspect of the reunion was negative!

There was a lot of reflection and poignant discussions among the cast, both with former partners and across the table.

Both Lee and Hurley had been negatively impacted by Jansen’s actions, and both were open in expressing the full extent of their feelings.

Lee opened up to Hurley and explained how she felt, according to People, Hurley had been “Dishonest regarding her true feelings” for him. The moment ended with the two women on good terms, with an apology from Hurley.

Jarrett Jones and his new bride Iyanna McNeely faced a difficult conversation about Jones’ pre-proposal relationship with Mallory ‘Mal’ Zapata, and a conversation the pair had in Mexico after seeing one another in person for the first time.

Jones and Zapata had discussed Zapata’s preferences for her dream engagement ring in the pods, and briefly revisited that conversation in Mexico, which was visibly difficult for Zapata’s former fiancé Salvador ‘Sal’ Perez.

The couple, who had addressed Zapata’s former pod era relationship with Jones several times throughout the show, did not get married, and ultimately decided after a post-finale coffee date they wouldn’t go forward with their relationship.

McNeely was forthright with her feelings during the reunion, describing the conversation between her now-husband and Zapata was “Hurtful.” She also refused to watch the moment with Jones after it was released.

McNeely wasn’t the only one whose heart was affected by the conversation, (which was referred to as “inappropriate” by Jones several times), Perez believed the conversation to be “Disrespectful” and surprised neither “Stopped the conversation immediately.”

Zapata and Perez both declined to elaborate on the end of their relationship. Perez stressed several times the events were “in the past” and not worthy of revisiting. The former couple also put their cordial relationship status on display, with Perez stating he had forgiven Zapata.

With so much tea spilled, it’s easy to almost forget the married couples updating audiences on their lives together! In the end, love reigned!
