Gov. Kathy Hochul dines with techies at Priyanka Chopra’s Sona restaurant

Gov. Kathy Hochul was spotted dining with techies at Priyanka Chopra’s Sona restaurant – before announcing her plan to allow restaurants to permanently serve booze to go, spies told Page Six.

Sona co-owner Maneesh Goyal and “Girls Who Code” founder Reshma Saujani hosted a small reception for tech power players to meet the governor and her team. A source told us it felt like “New York was back.”

“She was very much into being [out] and feeling like NYC is alive. She talked to everyone, including the staff,” an insider who attended the reception told Page Six.

Gilt founder Kevin Ryan, Craigslist founder Craig Newmark and Warby Parker co-founder Neil Blumenthal were a few of the tech players who attended the reception, we hear.

The reception took place in the restaurant’s private dining room “Mimi,” which is Chopra’s middle name. The meeting was for the tech community “to meet the new governor and have an informal dialogue.”

“It was very chill and easy,” the insider added. “She was all smiles and met every person in the room.”

Hochul left the Indian hotspot at around 7 p.m. Our source told us she didn’t mention anything about the to-go-booze, but on Wednesday, she unveiled her plans at Therapy Wine Bar 2.0 in Brooklyn.

“We are proposing to permanently allow bars and restaurants to sell to-go drinks,” Hochul said.

She added that the New York State Liquor Authority will implement “very specific regulations” after they iron out the details, The Post reported.

Hochul predicted that the new legislation will go into effect “very soon” after residents weigh in on the proposal.
