Mayim Bialik Tempts Crew With Cupcakes To Win ‘Jeopardy!’ Hosting Gig

It seems that Mayim Bialik is willing to do whatever it takes to become the next host of the iconic trivia game show. After executive producer Mike Richards was fired from the decades-long game show, Bialik stepped up to take his spot, although she was originally signed on to only host tournaments and special episodes.

Richards has since been replaced with executive producer Michael Davies and the two seem to be getting along well behind the scenes. It helps that season 38 of “Jeopardy!” has managed to do away with the hosting drama by setting some new records of its own.

Season 38 Is Making History

When the new season kicked off last month, it brought back the return of Yale Ph.D. student Matt Amodio, who took over the legendary Hall of Fame with 38 consecutive wins in regular gameplay. This puts him directly behind Ken Jennings, who set an insurmountable score of 74 consecutive wins in 2004.

Amodio was replaced by Florida-born actor Jonathan Fisher, who just ended an 11-day win streak with $246,100. This ties him with Arthur Chu for 10th place on the list of consecutive victories. Both Amodio and Fisher are going to be facing off again in the Tournament of Champions.

It’s not clear who is going to host the 2022 Tournament, but the former “The Big Bang Theory” star has been trying to warm up to the crew behind the scenes to make sure that it’s her.

Mayim Bialik Knows Everybody Loves Cupcakes

According to Daily Mail, the “Call Me Kat” actress is doing everything she can to earn the love and respect of the cast and crew working on the set.

Crew members have reportedly described her as “gracious, warm, and smart” and one crew member even revealed that she surprised them all with cupcakes from a local bakery to help keep up the team’s positive morale.

“It is such a refreshing change to what life was like on set with Mike Richards who made it all about Mike Richards,” one cast member shared.

Another added, “There is no doubt that Mayim is totally cut out for the job. She has the goods to back it up and is very pleasant and professional to all of us.”

Although it seems Bialik is doing everything she can to win the love and support of the “Jeopardy!” staff, it’s unclear if she has won over fans due to her controversial views.

Mayim Bialik Is Surrounded By Controversy

Although certain crew members might think that she is the best person to carry on the legacy of late host Alex Trebek, Bialik has made several controversial comments over the years that make fans leery to accept her just yet.

In a 2017 New York Times op-ed, Bialik made comments about the victims of Harvey Weinstein that many interpreted to be victim-blaming.

“I have decided that my sexual self is best reserved for private situations with those I am most intimate with,” she wrote. “I dress modestly. I don’t act flirtatiously with men as a policy.”

Although she later apologized for her comments, she has been under fire for her controversial stance on vaccines. In her 2012 parenting guide, “Beyond the Sling,” Bialik revealed that she had not vaccinated her children. She seems to have since reversed her position on vaccines, as her spokesperson recently confirmed that Bialik has been vaccinated for COVID-19.

Although fans might not see eye to eye with her divisive position on some issues, it seems she has at least won over former contestant Matt Amodio. When asked what Bialik was really like behind the scenes, he replied, “She does a really good job. I have been amazed by her.”
