There’s no doubt Coach is a great brand, but Megan’s adoration for the fashion label goes way back.

“I feel like working with Coach is just so nostalgic to me because I’ve been wearing this brand all my life,” the Houston native told People.

Megan holds a special place for Coach bags in her heart for as long as she can remember, as they are entwined with the fond memories of shopping with her grandmother.

“My grandmother used to take me shopping and buy me little Coach wristlets and the little small purses – and now I’m all grown up, and I get to wear everything and have all the big purses,” she continued.

Her Beloved Wristlet

Coach’s iconic horse and carriage logo is the highlight for the brand’s latest campaign, as seen on the label’s newest release of the Coach Horse and Carriage bag.

During the chat, Megan also recalled having a wristlet from the brand that she used in carrying all the things that were dear to her at the time.

“I had a Coach wristlet and I carried my whole life in that wristlet. It was like 16 lip glosses… 20 little quick debit cards,” she shared. “My grandma would give me like the little Chase cards that you could upload, like a hundred dollars on. It was full of that. My student IDs.. and I kept it all the way until like the 12th grade.”

Unfortunately, the wristlet is no longer in her possession.

“I lost it,” Megan said, adding, “Somebody got my whole life in their hands!”

Hot Girl Coach

The rapper joined the Coach family in 2019. Since then, she has appeared at their fashion shows and in previous ad campaigns, including Coach’s second collaboration with Japanese streetwear brand Bape. She also starred alongside boyfriend Pardi Fontaine, 32, for the brand’s Coach x Schott NYC launch in September 2021. In December 2020, the “Savage” hitmaker was featured on Coach’s holiday campaign.

In October of that year, she opened up about working with the brand.

“I’ve always loved and respected Coach as a brand with such heritage in Hip-Hop,” Megan told V Magazine. “So, when the opportunity came up, I was really happy and the partnership happened very organically for everyone.”

A Classic Brand

When asked about how Coach resonates with her style, she said, “For me, I love the way that the classic, beautiful tailoring and cuts are remixed with fun and expressive prints, colors and accents,” adding, “In my own style, I like to take something really simple and well-fitted and then give it my own twist by adding experimental elements, so this collection really speaks to me.”

Megan first shared in February 2020 that she adores working with Coach because of her grandmother.

“It’s like super epic because I’ve been wearing Coach since I was like in the second grade,” she told Complex. “My grandma always bought it. To see me rocking all this stuff now and to see my little picture on their little billboards everywhere. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, that’s me.’ So yeah, it’s super crazy.”

Loving The Brand

When asked about her personal connection to Coach, she replied, “I’ve just always loved Coach. I love the whole aesthetic, like the whole vibe, and the fact that it’s been around all my life. To me it’s just a prestigious brand. It’s just something that’s just always been there and will always be here.”

In the interview, Megan also shared her go-to outfit. The singer revealed she prefers “booty shorts and crop tops.” However, her stylist pushes her to try “something new.”

“So me being me, and me being from Texas, I never have on clothes. I always got on booty shorts and crop tops. So just even putting on more clothes is a big step for me,” she said.

“Today I have on a full trench, but it’s because it’s cold outside. I always fight with my stylist, EJ. He’s always trying to get me to try something new. I’m always pushing back on him. I never want to try and let them. I like what I like,” she continued.

“I just like to be chilling, but he’s like, ‘Megan, you can’t be in a T-shirt everywhere you go. So let’s do this.’ I’m like, ‘D-mn you right.’ So I just let him do his thing sometimes. But a lot of times I have to tell him let’s put a little sprinkle of my own stuff in there. Something’s got to give,” she added.
