Andrew Garfield is exhausted and needs a break immediately. The highly successful actor has had a very busy last few years with several high-profile films and recently revealed that he has plans to escape from Hollywood and take a break from acting, at least for a while.

After his latest project, a religion and murder FX series titled, Under the Banner of Heaven, fans won’t see Garfield on big screens for a while. Read on to find out more about his break.
Andrew Garfield Is Getting A Bit Of Rest
During an interview with Variety for an episode of Just For Variety, Garfield spoke about needing a break and said, “I’m going to rest for a little bit. I need to recalibrate and reconsider what I want to do next and who I want to be and just be a bit of a person for a while.”
He recently earned his second Oscar nomination for his performance in “Tick, Tick … Boom!” and compared the whole awards circuit to a “washing machine.” The “Hacksaw Ridge” actor isn’t complaining about the recognition and career growth but just said, “I need to just be a bit ordinary for a while.”
Another reason Garfield might be going on his break is the loss of his mother, Lynn, to Pancreatic Cancer in 2019. During an interview with Jackie Long on Channel 4, he said the loss left him in “precise agony” and that it has been “very, very difficult.”
He Had A Busy Year
Garfield featured in the recently released “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” alongside another former Spider-Man actor, Tobey Maguire. Their feature in the movie was highly anticipated, and Spider-Man fans loved it. The film was one of the most popular and successful movies of 2021.
MEGAThe 38-year-old actor also featured in two other very successful movies, “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” and “Tick, Tick … Boom!” Now, Garfield features in Under the Banner of Heaven, a limited series adaptation of a 2003 true-crime book by Jon Krakauer.
In the film, Garfield plays a Mormon police detective who investigates the murder of a mother and her baby by some fundamentalist followers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Daisy Edgar-Jones, Wyatt Russell, and Sam Worthington also star in the series.
He Doesn’t Plan To Be Spider-Man Again
During an interview with Variety on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which were held earlier this year, Garfield spoke about his future as everyone’s friendly neighborhood superhero, aka, Spider-Man, and whether he would feature in any more Marvel movies.
MEGAHe laughed and said, “Yeah, well no plans. That’s the truth, I mean well everyone’s going to call me a liar for the rest of my life, I am the boy who cried wolf,” alluding to previous interviews where he denied featuring in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
When the interviewer jokingly corrected him by saying, “You are the boy who cried Spider,” Garfield laughed and said, Yeah, that’s right, that’s right.”
Andrew Garfield Has An Upcoming BBC Role
Despite his announced break, Garfield is still hot in demand in Hollywood. He is reportedly lined up to take on a lead role in the BBC’s remake of the “Brideshead Revisited” miniseries, alongside Cate Blanchett, Ralph Fiennes, and others.
MEGA“Brideshead Revisited” was first adapted into a series in 1981, with Jeremy Irons delivering an incredible performance as Captain Charles Ryder. A feature film was then made in 2008, and Matthew Goode played the infamous Captain Ryder.
According to the Daily Mail, Garfield was set to portray Captain Ryder in the remake, but there are now conflicting reports from series director Luca Guadagnino that the project has been shelved.
