The battle is far from over for estranged lovers Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, as the former has recently unveiled another trick up her sleeve.
The lovebirds-turned-enemies have made the headlines again after Jolie allegedly filed an anonymous lawsuit against The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), looking into the child abuse allegations levied against her ex-husband.
Angelina Jolie Sues The FBI
In 2016, months before Jolie filed for divorce from the “Fight Club” actor, the FBI opened an investigation into Pitt following claims that he physically and verbally abused his then 15-year-old son Maddox during the family’s private flight from Europe.
MEGAPer reports, the FBI’s investigation was triggered by an anonymous call, but nothing was pinned on Pitt, so the investigation was closed in November of that year with no wrongdoings. Days after the investigation ended, Jolie filed divorce papers at the court.
Almost five years after the case has been closed, Page Six reports that a Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit against the FBI.
The suit demands access into their investigation of an alleged domestic violence incident on a private jet that eerily resembles that of the Pitt-Jolie family.
Per the publication, Doe is believed to be Jolie. The lawsuit was filed under the Freedom of Information Act to know about the Bureau’s examination of “an incident of domestic violence that occurred several years ago involving plaintiff and her minor children as victims and witnesses.”
The lawsuit claims that Pitt referred to as “husband,” “allegedly physically and verbally assaulted plaintiff and the children” while traveling via their private aircraft.
Doe is suing the FBI for publicly closing their investigation into the matter “without further action.” While it’s not ascertained that Doe is indeed Jolie, the lawsuit explains that Doe is of “public status” and so is her husband, hence her reason for wanting to remain anonymous.
As for her reason for filing this lawsuit after many years, Doe claims she wants to “better understand the FBI’s investigation and obtain information necessary for her children to receive medical care and trauma counseling” following the incident.”
FBI Lawsuit Is A Ploy To Hurt The ‘Troy’ Star
MEGAReps of Jolie and Pitt have not publicly commented on the lawsuit, but legal experts reveal to Page Six that there’s a high possibility that the “Maleficent” actress filed the suit before the facts of the case lined up.
Per an insider, the lawsuit does not hold any water, but Jolie is “likely looking for a morsel of information, something else to use against Brad, to hurt him.”
The source continued, “this is a desperate fishing expedition trying to find something that likely doesn’t exist in FBI notes and make it public.”
The insider claims that the FBI gave both Jolie and Pitt information about the investigation when it was closed, so it’s unknown what she is going on about now.
Nevertheless, lawyer Amanda Kramer who filed the lawsuit on behalf of Jane Doe, maintains that “victims and survivors should be able to access federal agency records of crimes they experienced or reported, as is common at the state level, so they can advocate for health and trauma care and legal protections for their children and themselves.”
Pitt Sued Jolie For Her Unlawful Sale Of The Miraval
The FBI lawsuit comes nearly two months after Pitt sued Jolie for planning an unlawful sale of Chateau Miraval, their joint-owned estate in the village of Correns, just north of Brignoles. Before tying the knot, the former couple purchased the 35-mansion property, which houses a vineyard, a pond, a chapel, and many other luxurious amenities.
MEGAIn 2008, Jolie and Pitt both purchased a controlling interest in Chateau Miraval S.A in the hopes of passing on the luxurious property to their kids. At the time, the pair agreed to never sell their portion of the Miraval without consulting the other party.
However, with their divorce finalized and the contentious battle for assets separation, Jolie allegedly sold her share to a Luxembourg-based spirits manufacturer. As The Blast covered, Pitt, in his lawsuit, claimed that his former wife owed him a consent right and was trying to take profits that she had not earned by making the sale.
Pitt sued for an unspecified amount of damages, which could amount to millions. He also asked the courts to declare her sale of Nouvel, the company that owned her shares of Miraval, as null and void.
