Apple’s iPhone Captures Vibrant Beauty of Holi Festival

Nobody knows how to welcome the arrival of Spring quite like India, as the annual Holi Festival brings about a celebration of laughter, fun and LOTS of color!

To capture all the true glory Holi has to offer, Apple was tasked with putting their iPhones to work, and the results were nothing short of breathtaking.

What Is Holi Festival?

Also known as the “Festival of Colors,” Holi is celebrated throughout India and is usually held in March. According to the Hindu American Foundation:

“Holi is a Hindu festival celebrating the start of spring, which is the season of hope and new beginnings. Holi is celebrated around the world and is recognized as a national holiday in India. The first noted celebrations date back to the fourth century C.E. in ancient India.”

Although Holi originated in ancient India, today it is celebrated by people of all different backgrounds and beliefs around the world.

Shot On iPhone

Continuing their well-known marketing hook of shooting all their promos and campaigns on iPhones, Apple hit it out of the park with their coverage of Holi earlier this month.

“Commissioned by Apple in celebration of Holi. In some parts of India this festival of colors is celebrated with flowers. Phoolon Wali Holi, or Flower Holi, is played by throwing petals amongst friends, family, even strangers, as India welcomes the arrival of spring,” a description on Apple’s Instagram feed stated while showing a beautiful collage of people surrounded by flowers and colors.

A man named Ashish S. was quoted as writing, “These celebrations always create warmth and intimacy — a sense of closeness. Phoolon Wali Holi let me explore moments of deep bonding in an honest, candid way.”

Flower Holi

Showcasing Apple iPhone’s rich video capabilities, a game of Flower Holi is front and center on another Instagram post.

“Phoolon Wali Holi, or Flower Holi, is played by throwing flowers between friends, family, even strangers as winter gives way to spring,” Apple explains.

Ashish, who is apparently Apple’s resident Holi expert, once again shared, “Nature offers the most striking colors. Through Flower Holi, I could see the celebration unfold in vibrant hues that reflect the joy and happiness of the festival.”

Fans and followers of Apple’s Instagram account also shared their joy over the beauty of Holi, with many praising the tech company for sharing the carefree snaps.

“Woah what an absolutely vibrant and stunning shoot. Must have been so fun to really put the iPhone to work with these hues,” one user commented.

“Apple always wins my heart,” another person proclaimed.

Perhaps even more amazing … not one person at the Holi festival needed to borrow a charger!
