Billie Eilish’s Parents Blamed For ‘Destroying Her Brain’

Billie Eilish’s parents are facing a new wave of backlash regarding her porn addiction.

Last year, the singer revealed in an interview with Howard Stern that she began watching “violent” porn at the age of 11.

“As a woman, I think porn is a disgrace,” Eilish said. “I used to watch a lot of porn, to be honest. I think it really destroyed my brain and I feel incredibly devastated that I was exposed to so much porn.”

After her interview aired, former “Boy Meets World” actress Maitland Ward spoke out on the matter.

After airing on ‘BMW,’ Ward went on to become a porn star.

She told TMZ, “Okay, first of all, the problem with that is, why was she watching violent porn at age 11? Who was watching over her? Like does she have parental figures in her life?”

Billie’s Parents Are Blamed For Her “Violent” Porn Addiction

Yes, Billie had and still has parental figures in her life. In fact, she’s credited them for her success, because they allowed her and her brother Finneas O’Connell to create music while being home-schooled.

When asked if Billie should blame her parents instead of the porn industry, Ward replied, “She should blame her parents. That’s abuse. A child should not be watching porn ever at that age, and especially… I heard she was watching like abusive porn like… no.”

“Porn isn’t something that’s supposed to be sex education for people,” she continued. “It’s entertainment for adults and that’s what we do. It’s like saying, ‘Oh, Spider-Man told me I could climb a building, might be like, I fell, it’s his fault.’”

“It’s crazy,” Ward added. “And I think she’s too young to make that kind of assessment about porn and sex.”

Now, British-American documentary filmmaker, Louis Theroux, is chiming in about the singer’s parents.

His name may sound familiar given that he is the writer behind ‘Shooting Joe Exotic.’

“The Porn World Is Not The Real World”

Speaking to Radio Times, Louis said, “Children and young adults need to understand that the porn world isn’t the real world.”

He noted that someone should’ve informed her of this when she was young, and that it may sound like he was blaming her parents for not stepping up to the task.

“It sounds like I’m blaming the parents, and maybe I am, slightly,” he added.

He continued, “In my life, of course, I’ve been a user of porn. I sort of see it as a bit like… maybe this sounds harsh, but it’s a bit like junk food, right? It’s not something you’re especially proud of using. But there are times in your life when you can’t get a decent meal, or you’re in a rush, or you’re just trying to get a need met.”

Theroux Says Porn Is Like Junk Food

Theroux is a father to three boys who are nearing adolescence, which is a time when the mind gets curious about sex.

He explained that he already has plans to discuss the subject matter with them.

“I’m on the cusp of my kids entering that stage of their lives, so I may have a rude awakening ahead of me,” Theroux said. “I have said to them, ‘When you see porn, if this is something you’ve stumbled across, just so you know, that’s not the real world. That’s not how people have sex. That’s people who are performing and doing things to satisfy consumers and don’t mistake it for how sex takes place.’”
