Blake Shelton Talks Family Life, Says Gwen Stefani Didn’t Think They Would Last

Blake Shelton is dropping juicy details about his iconic relationship with his gorgeous wife and Pop Queen Gwen Stefani!

The dynamic duo has been making headlines for being some of the world’s biggest names in the music industry, but their marriage took the world by storm.

As shared by PEOPLE, the country music star recently sat down with Lon Helton, Country Countdown USA host, at this year’s national gathering of broadcasters, a.k.a the Country Radio Seminar.

When it comes to legendary country music singers, Shelton is at the top of the list as the 45-year-old has achieved numerous awards for his chart-topping songs.

In addition to his outstanding musical career, the artist has established himself as a mentor to the younger generation for 21 seasons on the competitive hit show “The Voice.”

However, nothing lasts forever, especially in the ever-changing entertainment industry, and the Oklahoma native knows that his time in the limelight won’t last forever.

Surprisingly, the 9-time Grammy Award nominee wasn’t worried for the future because he believed there were more important things than his music career, such as his relationship with Stefani and her children Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.

The Country star got candid about his career and marital life with Helton at the Country Radio Seminar, where the “Ol’ Red” singer was the event’s highlight.

The chart-topper discussed various topics before an attentive crowd of several industry insiders. Still, the one topic that had the audience at the edge of their seats was Shelton’s love life.

The “God’s Country” artist revealed that for the last 4 to 5 years, he has been waiting for a time in his career when things needed to be stripped away for family time. In his words:

“You gotta get some life in there, and by marrying Gwen, I’ve married into a family. She’s got three boys … and all of a sudden you go, there’s other stuff.”

These kinds of stuff included embracing his life as a stepfather to his wife’s three sons, who were born during her marriage to ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

At the start of the entertainment sweethearts relationship, the “Rich Girl” songstress was concerned their relationship wouldn’t last because of her children.

Regarding her fear about whether the country star would want her sons in his life, the “Nobody But You” musician said:

“I think Gwen thought when we first started seeing each other that it was just gonna be a moment in time because of that.”

However, the 10-time Country Music Association Awards winner couldn’t help but fall for his step-sons, just as how his father married his mother, who already had a baby.

Recalling this unique part of his childhood, Shelton explained that his father raised his late brother Richie without question. This example of unconditional love made it easier to accept Stefani’s sons. In his words:

“My dad did it. My dad raised me. I could do this. I didn’t know what I was signing up for, but I was all about signing up for it. And every day, I’ve fallen in love with the boys as much as I do with Gwen.”

The 27-Time BMI Award Winner Gave His Wife A Special Valentine’s Day Tribute

As The Blast previously reported that Valentine’s Day was a remarkable occasion for Shelton and Stefani as the country music star honored his wife with a touching tribute.

To commemorate the romantic occasion, the 45-year-old shared a throwback image of the couple’s wedding ceremony in July 2021.

Although their backs were facing the camera in the black-and-white snap, the love between the pair was undeniable, especially in the “Happy Anywhere” singer’s caption that read:

“I’m the luckiest man alive… Happy Valentine’s Day, @gwenstefani! I love you!”

For those doubting the lovebirds’ deep connection, Shelton proved his eyes were only for Stefani with the song “We Can Reach The Stars.”

This soulful melody was reportedly written by the country singer and served as his wedding vows to the “Don’t Speak” songstress.

Naturally, fans were touched by “The Voice” coach’s open display of affection to his beautiful wife, and many continue to refer to the pair as the epitome of true love.
