Brittany Cartwright describes ‘breaking-point’ fight with Jax Taylor that led to separation

Brittany Cartwright revealed the moment she reached her “breaking point” with Jax Taylor that prompted her to separate from him after five years of marriage.

“We just had a horrible fight and it was like a veil was lifted, and I noticed everything wrong,” she said on “Watch What Happens Live” Tuesday night of her decision to separate from him.

“They always say a woman can hit her breaking point, and it’s hard to come back from that.”

Cartwright, 35, said the fight that served as the catalyst for their separation involved a night during which she had gone out with fellow Bravolebrity Kristen Doute.

“[He] kind of made up a story in his own head and started a fight over something that never happened,” she shared, cryptically.

“We fought about everything,” she added, calling their marriage a “very toxic situation” from which she needed to “remove” herself.

The “Vanderpump Rules” alum claimed her estranged husband snapped the morning after she had enjoyed a night out with Kristen Doute. brittanycartwright/Instagram “[He] kind of made up a story in his own head and started a fight over something that never happened,” she shared, cryptically. mrjaxtaylor/Instagram

Although she and her “Valley” co-star are still separated and she’s currently residing in an Airbnb, she said co-parenting their 2-year-old son, Cruz, with her estranged husband has been “fine.”

“Jax is a great father. I will give him that,” she told host Andy Cohen. “[Cruz] is our main priority no matter what.”

Despite rumors of infidelity, Cartwright said she highly doubts Taylor, 44, cheated on her.

“I don’t think so. I really don’t think so,” she said. “I did all the digging. … We made sure that wasn’t true.”

Taylor first cheated on Cartwright in 2017, when they were both on “Vanderpump Rules,” but the duo seemingly worked through their problems as they tied the knot on camera two years later in 2019.

Taylor and Cartwright announced on their podcast in February that they were “taking time apart,” but many immediately speculated that the split could serve as PR ahead of the premiere of “The Valley”; however, their rep told Page Six exclusively the breakup was “most definitely not PR related in any way.”

Just days after they shared their split news, Cartwright was photographed moving into a rental home after the short-term lease on her previous one expired.

“They’re not on a path to reconciliation,” a source told us of Cartwright’s decision to move out of their shared home.

Taylor, however, had a more optimistic outlook as he claimed they were “together” and living under the same roof.

Cartwright since has removed Taylor’s last name from her Instagram bio.
