Candace Cameron Bure ‘got into a little tiff’ with Bob Saget in last texts

Candace Cameron Bure admitted she and her former “Full House” co-star Bob Saget had a trivial argument in their last text messages just two weeks before his sudden death.

“We were going to have dinner. And we got into a little tiff. And his flight was delayed. We ended up not having dinner,” Cameron Bure, 45, emotionally said on the “Today” show Thursday.

“But in Bob fashion, the next day he wrote me, like, what would be pages long of a text. And he was apologizing, saying he was cranky and he was just so sorry.”

Saget then compared himself to his beloved mother, Dolly, who died in 2014.

“He said, ‘Oh, now I feel even worse. I was so wrong. You’re, like, my favorite person on the Earth and I acted like Dolly. I was getting ready to take a late flight, and I was annoyed,'” Cameron Bure said of the actor.

“Bob went on and on and on in the text. And he said at the end, ‘I love you more for the trouble you’re giving me, if that’s even possible.'”

The actress began to choke up as she recalled texting Saget that she loved him.

“I wrote back … ‘I could never be mad at you. Roll my eyes at you? Yes. But never mad,'” she shared, adding that she then told the actor, “‘And I love that [you’re being like] Dolly. That made me laugh out loud. I loved your mom.'”

Saget replied, “I love you. My mom loved you too.”

Cameron Bure told “Today” co-anchor Hoda Kotb she was afraid to mess with the text messages from Saget because they meant so much to her.

“I’m so scared that I’m going to pull up his text and then accidentally delete it one day,” she said through tears. “It scares me so much because I don’t ever want to lose this.”

Saget died at the age of 65 in his hotel room in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 9. His cause of death has yet to be revealed, though there were no signs of foul play or drug use, according to investigators.

Over 100 loved ones turned up to mourn the comedian at his Jan. 14 funeral, including Cameron Bure, John Stamos, who delivered a touching eulogy, Dave Chappelle, John Mayer, Howie Mandel and Kathy Griffin.

Cameron Bure played the role of DJ Tanner, the eldest daughter of Saget’s character, Danny Tanner, starring alongside each other in the ABC sitcom from 1987 to 1995. They reprised their roles in the Netflix revival “Fuller House” from 2016 to 2020.
