Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan see ‘eye to eye’ on daughter’s acting future

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are on the same page when it comes to their daughter, Everly, following in their acting footsteps.

“Jenna and I, we’ve always met eye to eye on this one,” the “Magic Mike” star, 42, told People Wednesday when asked about the preteen’s future in the entertainment industry.

“It’s pretty tough to be a child actor or artist. I also believe that if you really want to be a beautiful artist, you have to go live a real life.

“And I think kids in Hollywood, in general, there’s a lot of things that are standing in the way to living a very normal life in the world,” he continued, noting that Everly, 9, should wait until she is 18.

“When she’s lived a full life and she can make her own decisions, then I will put her in anything and everything that I can possibly put her in,” the “She’s the Man” actor said. “Because she’ll be the coolest thing in the world and she is the coolest thing in the world.”

Tatum and his “Step Up” co-star, 41, welcomed Everly in 2013, five years before the former couple announced their separation.

Dewan, who reached a custody agreement with Tatum in January 2020, has since moved on with Steve Kazee.

Tatum, for his part, dated Jessie J from 2018 to 2020 and is now in a relationship with Zoë Kravitz.

While the “Lost City” star has kept his relationship with the “Big Little Lies” alum, 33, private since they sparked romance rumors in August 2021, he regularly gushes about his bond with Everly.

Tatum was initially uncertain about meeting the little one “on her level” as a single dad, he told VMan in February.

“Was I going to be able to do any of the stuff that a mother should do?” the “One and Only Sparkella” author asked at the time. “That a mother, as a woman, can relate to her as?”

He recalled, “As that journey unfolded, I realized that all I really had to do was just go into her world and do whatever that is that she wanted to do.”
