Several exciting things happened during the family roast, but as people recently realized, one statement was more significant than anybody thought. This statement was a joke made by Nick Jonas’ wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who joked that the couple was expecting a baby.

Jonas Announced That They Welcomed A Baby Via Surrogacy
On January 21st, Jonas and Priyanka announced on social media that they had welcomed a baby via surrogate birth. It was a big surprise to their fans and followers as they were extremely tight-lipped about the pregnancy, which is not common among celebrities.
Jonas made a post on his Instagram, which read, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much.”
Priyanka also made the same post on her Instagram. It was later confirmed that the new Jonas baby was a baby girl, although neither Jonas nor Priyanka have made official statements since their Instagram posts.
His Reactions During Jonas Roast Made More Sense
During the Jonas Brothers’ family roast, each of the Jonas wives had their own time to roast their spouse and the other brothers. Priyanka certainly made good use of her time and teased the brothers endlessly; everybody laughed and loved it.
During her section of the roast, she said, “I love that I married a man who, like myself, values family. If you don’t know, we’re the only couple who doesn’t have kids yet, which is why I’m excited to make this announcement. Sorry, babe. We’re expecting… To get drunk tonight! And sleep in tomorrow!”
When she took her time before adding the last sentence, everyone could see how tense Jonas suddenly became, but many viewers wrote it off as surprise at his wife’s statements. Now, months later, people understand that he was worried she had spilled the beans about the baby they were really expecting, and it all makes more sense.
They Have Previously Mentioned Their Desire For Kids
Jonas and Priyanka have never hidden their desire to be parents. Shortly after he and Priyanka got married in two elaborate ceremonies in December 2018, Jonas spoke about his desire for children in the future on Spotify’s talk show, The Rewind with Guy Raz.
The “Cool” singer said, “I think that’s a real dream, and I think I’ve had to grow up pretty quick. With that, you could look at it two ways. You could say that was unfair, or you could say it’s given me some real perspective at an early age, and I’ve seen a lot of life at an early age, and I hope to be able to share that with a kid of my own someday.”
In her recent cover interview with Vanity Fair, Chopra also spoke about her desire to be a mother. The “Matrix Resurrections” actress said, “They’re a big part of our desire for the future. By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.”
They Are The Last Jonas Couple To Have Kids
With the arrival of their daughter, Jonas and Priyanka are the last of the Jonas brothers’ couples to have kids. Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas’ older brothers and bandmates, beat him to the punch with a few years to have their own kids.
Kevin married his wife, Danielle, in 2009, and they have had two daughters together. Their first child, Alena Rose, was born on February 2nd, 2014, while the second, Valentina Angelina, was born on October 27th, 2016. Joe Jonas and his wife, Sophie Turner, got married in 2019 and have one child, also a girl together.
Turner and Jonas were also very private about her pregnancy, choosing to announce the birth of their daughter, Willa, a while after she was born on July 22nd, 2020. Eventually, in September 2020, Turner shared several photos of her pregnancy journey on her Instagram.
