Disney Ride Undergoes Apparent Emergency Exit Due To Guest Injury

A popular Walt Disney World ride had to undergo an emergency evacuation after a Guest reportedly got his foot stuck between the ride vehicle and the loading/unloading platform.

Na’vi River Journey is a popular boat ride in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, and is considered to be a family-friendly attraction as the boat does not move very quickly. Unfortunately, it seems the ride is down due to a Guest injury.

Na’vi River Journey Shuts Down

According to WDWNT, many anonymous sources have confirmed this story and told the outlet around 3:00 p.m. on May 22 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, “a young guest reportedly became stuck between a boat and the unload platform at Na’vi River Journey.” Their report also stated that emergency services responded to the scene and had to “cut a hole in the platform to free the child”.

Reports also stated that there seemed to be no major injuries during the incident, but no details have been confirmed by Disney nor emergency responders at this time.

WDWNT also stated that one report noted “the guest had their foot out of the boat before it arrived back at the unload platform. Upon arriving at the destination, the guest’s foot and leg became lodged between said platform and the attraction’s boat that they were seated in. Thankfully, a Disney cast member operating the attraction stopped the ride before any irreparable damage could be done to the guest’s appendage.”

As Disney states, it is important to keep all hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the ride vehicles at all times for the safety of Guests.
