Evan Rachel Wood Says Marilyn Manson Didn’t Care For Her After An Abortion

Evan Rachel Wood has come out to share more intricate details of her ex-boyfriend, Marilyn Manson, in a new documentary. She accused him of drugging her with sleeping pills, raping her in her sleep, and demanding she wait on him immediately after an abortion.

The 34-year-old disclosed that she realized she was pregnant while working on location for the “Mildred Pierce” series.

“From the beginning of our relationship, he always had an issue with whatever birth control I was using — and I went through, like, every type to see which one he liked, and he didn’t like any of them, so essentially he didn’t want me using birth control.”

The actress claimed that her ex-boyfriend refused to wear a condom and use spermicides. After realizing that she was pregnant, she decided to terminate the pregnancy and was terrified when Manson demanded a meal after her abortion.

“He flew out for the abortion,” Wood said. “The second it was over it was like, ‘Make me dinner.’ And I remember being like, ‘I’m supposed to be resting — my body has gone through this trauma … there’s an aftermath here.’ And he didn’t care.”

This event nearly drove her to take her own life. She reported going to the bathroom, shattering glass, and digging at her wrists as much as she could.

Although the suicide attempt was unsuccessful, the incident marked a turning point in her life.

“When I woke up, I felt different. I feel like whoever I was went to sleep and didn’t wake up that night, and this new version woke up and had to start rebuilding her life. I called my mom and I said, ‘I just tried to kill myself, and I need to go to a hospital, like, immediately.'”

She Initially Called Him Out Last Year

The “Westworld” actress first called out her ex-boyfriend as her abuser in February 2021. This was after she previously referenced a traumatic relationship with an unnamed man to the press.

She later decided to go public with his name in a statement she posted on Instagram.

“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.”

The actress explained her reason to speak out. She was done living in fear of slander, blackmail, or retaliation.

“I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

Other Allegations

The “True Blood” actress also accused her ex-boyfriend of drugging her with sleeping pills while they were still together. She also added that he used it as an opportunity to sleep with her as she was unconscious and groggy.

“This is also when he started raping me in my sleep,” she says. “I’d wake up, I just remember doing the mental math quickly and thinking, ‘Just stay, just stay asleep, don’t move, just don’t move.'”

She added, “So I would just lie limp and still until it was over, and then I swear to God, he would just fling my leg and walk out of the room.”

The actress alleged being isolated in his home in Los Angeles, where she was kept under cold temperatures and deprived of sleep.

The first part of the documentary premiered in January, during which the actress opened up about the traumatic experience of working with Mason on the “Heart-Shaped Glasses” music video.

The video was released in 2007 when Wood was just 19 years old.

“I didn’t know how to advocate for myself or know how to say no because I had been conditioned and trained to never talk back, to just soldier through,” the North Carolina native said at the time.

HBO will premiere both documentaries on two concurrent nights. The first documentary, “Phoenix Rising: Don’t Fall,” will debut on March 15, 2022. The second, “Phoenix Rising: Stand Up,” will debut on March 16, 2022.

Mason Response To The Documentary

After repeatedly denying allegations made by Wood in the documentary, the singer filed a lawsuit against the actress on account of “malicious falsehood.” He also alleged that she thwarted the growth of his music, film, and TV career.

Per a statement issued to Daily Mail about the recent allegations, the singer’s lawyer Howard King denied the actress’ claims, saying, “As we detailed in our lawsuit, nothing that Evan Rachel Wood, Illma Gore or their hand-picked co-conspirators have said on this matter can be trusted. This is just more of the same.”
