Robert Pattinson said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight last week at the “The Batman” screening, that he shared a home with Jamie Dornan, as well as other young actors Andrew Garfield, Charlie Cox, and Eddie Redmayne, early in his career.
He went on to say that his housemates would frequently abandon him to himself and only issue him “pity invites” to parties and other fun occasions.
Similarly, Dornan has confirmed that most of Pattinson’s statement was true. However, he denied that their group of friends only issued Pattinson “pity invites,” opining that the actor’s “Twilight” success drew him away from the young clique at the time.

MEGAAt the Critics Choice Award ceremony, Dornan discussed with ET about his long-term friendship with the “Batman star” and gave a different reason as to why Pattinson did not hang out with the clique of young actors residing within the same space.
“The pity invite? No. I think with Rob; it’s always been like, he sort of had success earlier, so we were a bit like, ‘Does he really fit in with us?’ Because we were not working, and he’s working all the time,” Dornan told the news publication.
“He did ‘Twilight’ and was suddenly in a different stratosphere than us.”
Although their fortunes have changed in recent times, with Dorman and his other colleagues getting their own lucrative features in the film industry, he still believes that Pattison is a step ahead of the rest of them.
He said: “We’ve sort of, not caught up, but we all started working more consistently, but yeah, Jesus, we’ve known each other a long time.”
‘He Got Us All In’
MEGADornan also explained that their clique of friends had more success getting access to events when Pattison showed up with them due to his handsome looks and his early success with “Twilight.”
“We never left him at home. Why would you leave him at home? He was the good-looking one,” Dornan told “Access Hollywood.” “He got us all in. He got us all the attention. He was too successful for us early on.”
Truly, Pattinson’s feature in “Twilight” skyrocketed his career from a young starlet to a well-known actor in the film industry. His co-star Kristen Stewart also garnered similar acclaim given that the duo displayed one of the best on-screen chemistry at the time.

Kenneth Branagh, a British filmmaker, wrote and directed “Belfast,” which has since been applauded for Dornan’s acting as well as Kenneth Branagh’s semi-autobiographical writing style. Apart from Dornan and Hill, “Belfast” also starred veteran actor Judi Dench, Ciarán Hinds, Lewis McAskie, Lara McDonnell, and “Merlin’s” Colin Morgan.
It debuted in the U.S on November 12, 2021, and in the U.K on January 21, 2022, grossing over $37 million since its release.
Dornan Was Initially Reluctant To Play The Father In Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast
MEGAWhile Dornan’s role as the lead character’s father has earned him some award nominations, he initially wasn’t enthusiastic about playing the part.
In a recent interview with W magazine, he described his first reaction to reading the script for his feature in “Belfast.” He said: “In Belfast, I play a dad, and there was a moment when I read the script where I thought, I’m a young guy—I’m not ready to play a father! Mind you, in real life, I do have a wife and three daughters, but my kids in Belfast are a bit older than my actual children.”
However, after discovering that Branagh’s father inspired the role, Dorman’s disposition changed positively, ultimately leading him to deliver his critically acclaimed performance in the film.
