Julia Fox defends tiny NYC apartment: I don’t want my son to be a ‘pr–k’

Julia Fox says she chose to live in her tiny, mice-infested New York City apartment because she wants her 2-year-old son to be humble.

“Even though I could have probably afforded a bigger place — probably, ’cause I am in New York after all — you know, it’s about having that sense of normalcy for Valentino,” the actress explained in a TikTok video Monday. “I don’t want him to grow up and be, like, a f–king pr–k.”

Fox — who lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Italy before moving to Manhattan at the age of 6 — noted that she “grew up in the real world,” so she wants Valentino “to be in touch with the f–king real world,” too.

The “Uncut Gems” star, 32, said her apartment has been her son’s home since he was born in January 2021. (She divorced Valentino’s father, pilot Peter Artemiev, in July 2020.)

“It’s really not that deep. This just happens to be the apartment that I took my son home from the hospital from, so it’s his home,” she explained. “It really is Valentino’s apartment. So, it’s a sentimental thing.”

Fox also shut down reports that she is worth $30 million, insisting she “doesn’t spend money” or “buy nice s–t.”

“First of all, I’m not worth $30 million. Not even close. And second of all, I don’t give a f–k because I don’t need $30 million,” she said. “What does one person need $30 million for? I’ve survived on a lot less, and I’m doing just fine.

“Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. All those celebrity net worth [websites] are complete BS.”

The Gotham Award nominee further clarified that despite her fancy-looking (and wild) wardrobe, she isn’t dropping tons of cash on her outfits.

“You guys are like, ‘She wears thousands of dollars worth of couture.’ Borrowed couture! Jesus Christ. Come on, people,” she said. “And most of the clothes I wear are, like, young designers who are, like, just starting out, to be honest.”

Fox said she was surprised that a recent video of her giving an apartment tour went viral and that people were “freaking out over it.”

“I got a lot of mixed reviews, but most of it was really … supportive, and it really warms my heart that so many people could relate,” she said. “I used to be, like, an aesthetic queen and want my space curated perfectly a certain way, but then I realized there’s more to life. I don’t give a f–k, OK?”

Fox gave her TikTok followers a glimpse inside her “underwhelming” Big Apple pad last week, sharing a video to show just how “normal” she is despite being a celebrity.

She shared at the time that she finds”excessive displays of wealth” to be “icky.”

“Especially people that have really big houses. It’s just really wasteful when there is just so many homeless people in this country. I just, I’m not really like that,” she said.

The former dominatrix then filmed the layout of her apartment, explaining that she converted her living room into her bedroom and her closet into a playroom for Valentino.

Fox also showed her “little” bathroom, which was filled with products, before showing her kitchen, where she stores boxes of shoes. Her kitchen, meanwhile, has a separate play area for her son.

She then took fans into Valentino’s bedroom, which was filled with more toys.

“I put the most effort in this room, I think. I really wanted him to have a cute room,” she said. “However, he does not hang out here at all. He wants to be in Momma’s room. He, like, doesn’t even sleep in there. He sleeps in bed with me. Yeah, we are co-sleepers. Sue me. I don’t care.”

Fox ended the video by explaining that she has a “little mouse problem” but doesn’t mind because the rodents “clean up the crumbs” that her son drops on the floor.

“I’m not going to evict the mice anytime soon,” she quipped.

In the caption of the post, she clarified, “I have only ONE mouse and he’s cute.”

Fans applauded Fox for being so open about living in such a modest setting.

“Julia fox you continue to be the MOST humbled thank you so much for sharing!” one person commented.

“A relatable icon,” a second wrote.

“Love your place! Looks totally awesome and spacious for NYC. I’d put my bedroom in the living room too!!” a third fan wrote, to which Fox responded, “I know it’s crazy that this is a big apartment for NY standards lol I grew up in a shoe box so I don’t mind it.”
