Kid Cudi Set To Headline Rolling Loud Miami After Kanye West Pulls Out

Kid Cudi is taking Kanye “Ye” West‘s spot!

After the Yeezy founder suddenly bailed out of the upcoming Rolling Loud Miami music festival, showrunners wasted no time replacing the renowned rapper with his protégé.

The announcement came via the organization’s Instagram page, in which they shared a promotional flyer containing the updated artist lineup alongside details about the event.

Kid Cudi To Headline Rolling Loud Miami Alongside Future And Kendrick Lamar

On Sunday, July 17, the Rolling Loud Miami committee revealed on their social media platform that Ye would no longer headline their three-day music festival slated to hold at the Hard Rock Stadium from July 22 to 24.

Although the event’s organizers were disappointed by the “Flashing Lights” rapper’s decision to quit their show, they found a silver lining by securing Cudi to take over the Atlanta native’s duties.

“Due to circumstances outside of our control, Ye will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022. Please welcome @KiDCuDi!” the showrunner captioned the promotional post.

The colorful flyer showcased a picturesque Miami city with numerous skyscrapers, palm trees, and birds flying through a beautiful sunset. However, the highlight of the photo was not the art but its content.

As written on the post, Cudi would kick off the three-day festival on Friday, July 22, while Future and Kendrick Lamar would headline the next two days.

Alongside these stars were numerous A-listers such as Playboi Carti, Lil Baby, Gunna, Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy, Dababy, Lil Durk, 2 Chainz, Saweetie, Lil Yatchy, and more.

Rolling Loud Miami organizers pulled out all their cards for the upcoming event with their impressive list of diverse artists, which would appease Hip-Hop lovers at the Hard Rock Stadium.

However, fans of the DONDA founder were naturally dissatisfied with the last-minute update as they flooded the comment section with complaints.

In response, Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif explained that West’s departure could not be prevented as he tried to convince the 24-time Grammy winner to perform. Unfortunately, the rapper remained adamant about leaving.

The “Heartless” artist being replaced by Cudi was somewhat ironic given the bad blood between the pair, which began earlier this year.

As reported by The Blast, the “Pursuit of Happiness” artist has collaborated with Ye on several projects, including a 2018 joint album called “Kids See Ghosts.”

The relationship between the former co-workers became estranged because of the “Need for Speed” actor’s friendship with Pete Davidson, the boyfriend of Ye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

Enraged by Cudi’s familiarity with the “Saturday Night Live” alum, the Atlanta native announced in a since-deleted tweet that he would no longer partner with the Grammy-winning artist because of his association with Davidson.

Similarly, the “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper called out West for his tasteless actions, describing the 45-year-old as a bad friend and declaring his disinterest in further collaborations with the father-of-four.

In April, fans believed the dynamic duo had squashed their beef after the pair worked on a song for Pusha T’s latest studio album, “It’s Almost Dry.”

Although the former collaborators came together on this project, the “We Are Who We Are” actor revealed that their reconciliation was only temporary in a candid tweet.

The father-of-one explained that the pair initially worked on the track in 2021 while they were on good terms; however, those days were gone. The 38-year-old wrote:

“I am not cool w that man. He’s not my friend, and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye – Scott.”

Kanye “Ye” West Reached Out To His Protégé Following Their Fight

As previously shared by The Blast, Cudi, who has always been vocal about his mental health problems, asked God to watch over him and his sanity in an emotional Instagram post.

This statement came in February, not long after the “Show Out” rapper’s issues with West started. Despite their differences, the GOOD Music founder reached out to the Cleveland native.

In a since-deleted comment, the BET award winner wrote “Love you, family,” presumably to show that he supported Cudi in his time of need.

However, this small ray of hope did not lead to a favorable outcome, as the former collaborators’ strained relationship continues to date.
