During her recent appearance on “The Tonight Show,” actress Kristen Bell teased about a potential third film in the “Frozen” franchise. The actress said, “I feel like if we’re all in, what are we waiting for?” A third film has been high in demand ever since the success of the first two Frozen films.
Bell also spoke about the possibility of working with actress Idina Menzel again, who has said she would happily work on a third film again. Bell and Menzel aren’t the only ones who would go for a third installment, as other cast members have previously shared how much they loved working on the previous movies.

Kristen Bell Teased That There Will Be Frozen Three
MEGADuring her conversation with host Jimmy Fallon, he asked Bell about the possibility of a second sequel to the 2013 global hit film, “Frozen.” In response, she teasingly said, “I would like to officially announce, with zero authority, ‘Frozen 3’.”
As the audience clapped and cheered to her announcement, the “Veronica Mars” actress clarified her statement. She said, “Please bear in mind I did say ‘zero authority,’ ’cause I can’t [actually announce it]. I can’t do that — I’m not in charge.”
Fallon pressed for more information and said, “But there could be something in the works, and something may be happening, maybe. Then, Bell said, “Well, you know, I’m — I’ll keep it mysterious. But I know Idina recently said she would do it, and I feel like if we’re all in, what are we waiting for?”
The First Frozen Was A Success
MEGAThe first movie in the franchise, titled “Frozen,” premiered in 2013 and was an instant success. Menzel voices Elsa in the film, a princess in the kingdom of Arendelle who has the power to control and manipulate snow and ice.
Bell voiced the character of Anna, Elsa’s younger sister, who has dreams of exploring the world outside their castle and city. The sisters are driven apart by the tragic death of their parents, and eventually, Elsa runs away, leaving Anna to find her and save their home.
“Frozen” made over a billion dollars worldwide and, according to Box Office Mojo, is ranked as the sixth highest-grossing film of 2013. The movie has since expanded into an entire franchise with TV specials, short films, a sequel, and a Broadway musical.
The Sequel Was Also A Success
The sequel to the first film, “Frozen II,” premiered in theatres worldwide in 2019 and was an even bigger success than its predecessor, raking in about $1.45 billion, according to Box Office Mojo.
The second film takes place three years after the first film’s end and follows Elsa as she questions her place as the Queen of Arendelle and searches for her true purpose in life. It also followed the romance between Kristoff and Anna and brought back a fan-favorite character, Olaf the snowman.
During a recent interview with Shop Today, Menzel touched on the possibility of a third Frozen film. She said, “I hope it is, but I don’t know. Anytime I can be 80 and play a blonde animated girl who is, like, 15 — who has amazing arms, by the way, I love that about her.”
The Cast Loved Being Part Of Frozen
MEGADuring an interview with People in 2019, Bell, Menzel, and several other cast members from “Frozen” said they loved being part of the Frozen phenomenon. Bell even said the movie’s success “shook all the norms” for making movies and animations in Hollywood.
She also said, “The happily ever after is not waiting for a kiss from your prince, which has sort of been the standard in literally every Hollywood movie. Frozen was about something that was just as deep, if not deeper, which was like the love of family.”
“There were questions along the way the whole time: is this going to be important?” Bell continued, “We felt it was, and then when it came out, seeing kids elated about it and parents elated and having the movie affect people because they were interested in this new story, this new idea, that like, ‘Oh yeah, let’s explore the love of family, let’s break some boundaries.’ That, to me, was progress.”
