Lindsie Chrisley: Why I reconciled with dad Todd after saying I’d ‘never’

Lindsie Chrisley clarified that her surprising reconciliation with dad Todd Chrisley had “nothing” to do with his conviction on fraud charges.

The former reality star, 32, addressed rumors on her “Southern Tea” podcast that she and the real estate tycoon, 53, “reconnected because of the trial.”

“I can confidently tell you there was no reconnection due to any legal reasons whatsoever,” she explained. “Nothing like that ever transpired.”

Instead, Lindsie credited her 2021 divorce from Will Campbell for sparking her and Todd’s reunion.

“After my divorce stuff had become public, my dad had posted, ‘I’m here, I love you, whatever’s going on in your life right now I see it,'” she recalled.

“That’s really more so how we were able to reconnect,” Lindsie continued. “[It was] definitely because of my divorce.”

The “Growing Up Chrisley” alum and Campbell, 33, revealed their split via social media in July 2021.

The following month, Todd sent Lindsie his support via Instagram, which left her “truly … shocked” since she had blocked her father and could not see his posts.

“We do have each other’s numbers,” she said in an August 2021 episode of her “Coffee Convos” podcast.

Lindsie went on to call Todd’s commentary “triggering” in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” saying they would “never” talk again.

“Through therapy over the last year, I had just been advised by my therapist to not tune in, to not follow along on social media,” she explained in September 2021. “So, I try to distance myself from that as much as possible.”

However, when Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were found guilty of fraud and tax evasion in June, Lindsie supported them.

“The verdict is not what I had hoped or prayed for, and I am deeply saddened for myself, my son and my family as a whole,” she wrote via Instagram Stories after the verdict. “Please pray for us during this difficult time.”
