Actress Liz Sheridan is dead at 93.

The beloved actress was best known for playing Jerry Seinfeld’s mother on “Seinfeld” and also had a reoccurring role on “ALF.” She appeared in several Broadway shows before she eventually passed away on Friday in New York City.

Her longtime friend and rep, Amanda Hendon, told Deadline that she passed away overnight in her sleep of natural causes.

Sheridan was cast as the grumpy neighbor Raquel Ochmonek on NBC’s “ALF” and appeared in dozens of episodes from 1968 to 1990. Not long after, she landed the role of Helen Seinfeld, Jerry’s adoring mother. She appeared in around twenty episodes, starting with “The Stakeout” early in season 2 all the way up to the show’s finale in 1998.

She also appeared opposite Christopher Lloyd and a young Meryl Streep in the 1977 musical “Happy End” on Broadway.

Believe it or not, Sheridan was also an author. She wrote a book about her relationship with James Dean in the 1950s. The book was called “Dizzy and Jimmy” and was published in 2000.

Sadly, she is not the only “Seinfeld” actress to pass away this year. Earlier this month, Estelle Harris passed away.

The beloved actress Estelle Harris played George Costanza’s (Jason Alexander) mother Estelle Costanza on NBC’s sitcom “Seinfeld.” Deadline reported that the 93-year-old actress passed away on Saturday night of natural causes in Palm Desert, California, just two days shy of her 94th birthday on April 4.

Her son, Glen Harris told the outlet “It is with the greatest remorse and sadness to announce that Estelle Harris has passed on this evening at 6:25 pm. Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humor, empathy, and love were practically unrivaled, and she will be terribly missed by all those who knew her.”

Her son said that “Her passion was her work and her work was her passion.” At one point, she had been known as the “Queen of commercials” after booking as many as 25 national TV spots in only one year. She is survived by three children, three grandsons, and a great-grandson.

Jason Alexander Wishes ‘Serenity Now & Always’ To Late Estelle Harris

On April 3, shortly after her death was announced, Jason Alexander tweeted, “One of my favorite people has passed – my tv mama, Estelle Harris. The joy of playing with her and relishing her glorious laughter was a treat. I adore you, Estelle. Love to your family. Serenity now and always. #RIPEstelleHarris”

Harris appeared as Mrs. Costanza on 27 episodes of “Seinfeld” from 1992 to 1998. She first appeared in “The Contest” when she ends up in the hospital after she walks in on George losing the contest.

And here’s a fun fact for “Seinfeld” fans: the character was named Estelle even before Harris landed the part. Some things were simply meant to be!
