Coogler is directing from his own script and will also produce alongside Proximity Media’s Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. The film’s executive producers are Rebecca Cho, two-time Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, and Will Greenfield.

Bringing Jordan and Coogler back together following their collaboration on the Creed and Black Panther franchises and the acclaimed Sundance drama Fruitvale Station, the film is the second from the collaborators that Warner Bros Film Group co-chairs and CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy have championed, having greenlighted the box office hit Creed III during their time at MGM. Pic’s slated for release in theaters on March 7, 2025.

An actress and singer-songwriter best known for starring opposite Gael Garcia Bernal on Amazon’s Golden Globe-winning series Mozart in the Jungle, which ran for four seasons, Kirke has also been seen in David Fincher’s Gone Girl, Noah Baumbach’s Mistress America, and Liz Garbus’s Lost Girls. Other past TV credits include HBO’s Winning Time and FX’s BJ Novak anthology The Premise.

Kirke will next be seen on Starz’s series Three Women, based on the bestseller from Lisa Taddeo. On the music front, she’s recently debuted at the legendary Grand Old Opry and toured with Elle King, who produced her latest EP, Country Curious. She has also toured with First Aid Kit, who are featured on Kirke’s single, “All My Exes Live in LA,” and will release her third full-length LP through One Riot Records next spring.

Kirke is repped by Circle of Confusion, Gersh, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
