Mama June’s boyfriend Geno Doak reportedly enters rehab following hospitalization

Mama June Shannon’s longtime boyfriend, Geno Doak, has reportedly entered a rehab facility in South Carolina following a brief hospitalization.

TMZ contends that Doak was hospitalized in Fort Pierce, Florida earlier this month. While the cause of his hospital stay was not listed, staff supposedly referred him to a recovery center in South Carolina, with the reality star allegedly checking in on Monday.

Doak will reportedly be a resident in the long-term intensive program and be required to make a minimum 120-day commitment, the director of the facility allegedly wrote in legal docs cited by TMZ, which add that Doak will also be allowed to stay up to a year, if necessary.

Page Six has reached out to Shannon’s team for clarification.

The news comes a month after Doak, 45, was sentenced to 16 months in Macon, Alabama Community Corrections after catching joint drug charges alongside Mama June, 42.

Doak and Shannon were arrested together at an Alabama gas station in 2019 after a domestic dispute. The following week, both were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance — listed as crack cocaine — and drug paraphernalia, with Doak picking up an additional domestic violence charge.

Mama June pleaded not guilty to the charges in Oct. 2019 and was ultimately sentenced to 100 hours of community service. She also agreed to several provisions to avoid jail time, including remaining sober.

By August 2020, Shannon was celebrating six months of sobriety, adding at the time that  Doakes was “over six months clean” as well.

This summer, the WEtv star reunited with all four of her daughters, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efrid, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Shannon, for the first time in six years.
