Melania Trump Has Been Her Husband’s ‘Rock’ Amid Hush Money Trial: ‘She’s Not Going Anywhere’

Former First Lady Melania Trump reportedly wants her husband, Donald Trump, to come out victorious in his hush money trial despite not joining him in court.

According to reports, "she's there for him," and "they're going through it together." A source also claimed she has been the "rock of the family."

It is also understood that it is unlikely that Melania would testify at the trial, although it is possible for the prosecutors to subpoena her to do so.

Trump's hush money trial has been going on for a few days, with jury selection and other preliminary proceedings being the first covered. The billionaire mogul is currently facing more than two dozen counts of charges of falsifying his business records in regard to a $130,000 hush payment made to former adult star Stormy Daniels to hide his affair with her.

While the billionaire mogul has attended every day of the trial in the company of his lawyers, his wife, Melania, has been noticeably absent on each occasion.

This has caused many to speculate that the former model was leaving her husband to face his trouble alone. However, a source close to the couple has claimed that this is not the case and that Melania is "there for him."

"She's not going anywhere. She's there for him," a source told the DailyMail. "They're going through it together. She's been the rock of the family."

Despite Melania backing her husband privately, it is believed that she reacted very strongly to the news of her husband's affair.

According to her former aide, Stephanie Grisham, the mother of one, "didn't take it lightly at all," leading to tensions in the White House when the affair came to light.

She also explained Melania's decision to attend the State of the Union separately, revealing that she didn't want to emulate Hillary Clinton, who stood by her husband, Bill Clinton, during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Similar to the initial emergence of the Daniels allegations, Grisham also believes that the current trial situation has caused concern for Trump. She claimed that Melania finds the situation "very embarrassing" and "humiliating," saying this was the reason behind Trump's worry.

Speculations have since arisen about whether Melania will take the stand to defend her husband at any time during the proceedings.

While Melania's current decision not to show up at court suggests that the mother of one isn't interested in doing so, some legal experts have claimed that she can be compelled to do so by the prosecution if necessary.

"If Melania is subpoenaed by the prosecution, she would have to testify," said former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani to Newsweek.

Another individual elected state attorney, Michael McAuliffe, backed Rahmani's claims, saying that the state "could constitutionally compel Melania to attend as a trial witness."

However, despite this possibility, both experts believe the prosecutors are unlikely to make this move.

Rahmani emphasized that Melania could "assert spousal privilege," which "protects the confidential communications between spouses during the course of marriage."

Meanwhile, McAuliffe claimed that any forced statement from Melania "would just feed Donald's preferred narrative that the case is about airing salacious rumors."

During his recent joint appearance with House Speaker Mike Johnson at Mar-a-Lago, Trump recently addressed rumors about whether he would be testifying at his trial.

"I'll be testifying. I tell the truth. I mean, all i can do is tell the truth. The truth is that there is no case," the former president told attendees at the gathering, per MSNBC.

Trump's attorneys, who had earlier suffered failed attempts to postpone the trial, have yet to confirm whether the billionaire mogul will indeed be taking the stand.

However, if he does testify, this would not be the first time he has done so, as he made a similar move during his civil case with E. Jean Caroll. He ended up losing the case and was required to pay Carroll over $83 million in defamation damages.
