Morgan Wallen Gets No. 1 Hit On Country Radio Days After His Arrest

Five days after being arrested for throwing a chair, Morgan Wallen landed another No. 1 hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

As The Blast previously reported, Wallen was arrested on reckless endangerment in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday, April 7, after he threw a chair from the sixth floor of Eric Church's new establishment.

Funny enough, Wallen's latest hit is one he collaborated with Eric Church on.

Morgan Wallen originally released 'Man Made a Bar' on his 'One Thing at a Time' album in March 2023, but it just reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart on April 12 -- just five days after he was arrested in Tennessee. He has previously set records with his single, 'Last Night' which broke the record for "the lengthiest reigning song by a solo artist at the summit of this iconic music chart," per Hank FM.

This is Wallen's 12th top-charting song and Church's 11th. The song contains lyrics about spending time at a bar and drinking after a breakup. The chorus goes:

"God made the world in seven short days / He said it was good, I bet it was great / Then God made a man, and man got lonely / He said, 'Please, Lord, if I could only / Have an angel to hold in my arms' / So God made a girl, His best work of art / Oh, but He didn't make no place to go when she breaks your hеart / So man made a bar."

Ironically, Wallen was allegedly drinking at Church's bar when he was arrested earlier this month.

The 'Last Night' singer may have had a bit too much to drink when he was arrested late Sunday, April 7, and booked early Monday, April 8, for three counts of reckless endangerment. The charges come after he threw a chair from the sixth floor of Eric Church's new bar, which landed just feet away from police officers.

"Morgan is generally a nice, fun person to hang out with, but when he gets going he doesn't know when to stop," the source told PEOPLE. "Morgan and alcohol [are] a problem, and it's been a problem that keeps coming back around."

This is not the first time the 'Whiskey Glasses' singer has been arrested. In 2020, he was booked on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

"Hey, y'all just wanted to clear the air. I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple [of] bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other," he wrote in a social media post after his 2020 arrest.

"We didn't mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected," he added.

Morgan Wallen also revealed that he completed a 30-day rehab program a few years ago.

“That used to be my warm-up — to get half-lit: ‘I’m going out there, and we’re going to go have fun.’ Now, that is not the way I approach it,” he told Billboard.

“I used to be scared to even think about what it would be like to play a show without drinking: ‘That sounds terrible. Why would I ever do that?’ And now I’m almost scared to wonder what it’d be like if I was drunk," the country singer added.

Many of Wallen's songs contain lyrics about drinking, but in one song in particular, he sings that alcohol will "be the death" of him.

"Everybody says it's gonna be the death of me / But these days I’m livin' on the side of alive / Just 'cause I smile through my sobriеty / Don't mean it ain't chillin' in the back of my mind / I ain't sayin' I swore it off for good / I’m just sayin’ I'm doin’ thе best I can / But what do you expect from a redneck? / Hell, I was born with a beer in my hand," he sings in 'Born with a Beer in My Hand.'

Morgan Wallen has yet to address the April 7 arrest.
