Musical Legends Revealed For Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Attraction

Three years ago, Disney Parks shocked the nation after announcing the iconic attraction — Splash Mountain — at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland — would be closing permanently and that the ride would reopen as a “Princess and the Frog”-themed ride. This announcement came as the company pushed for more inclusion.

At both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, Splash Mountain is officially closed as the Parks gear up for the next phase of bringing the new ride — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — to Guests.

Disney recently announced that music legends and New Orleans natives PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard will produce the music for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the new attraction coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland in late 2024, which will be inspired by the 2009 Disney animated film “The Princess and the Frog.”

“We’re thrilled to announce that we are collaborating with award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard on the music guests will hear as part of this adventure,” Disney announced. “Both natives of New Orleans, PJ, and Terence, will help us score a lyrical love letter to the region that first inspired our endeavor with Princess Tiana.”

The company also revealed that “a new original song composed by PJ Morton” and “new renditions of fan favorite music from the Walt Disney Animation Studios hit film, ‘The Princess and the Frog'” will be coming to the attraction.

Disney shared that PJ Morton is “writing, arranging, and producing the original song for the attraction. He is performing on and producing the sessions in New Orleans of all-new arrangements of the song, as well as songs from ‘The Princess and the Frog’ within the attraction.”

Meanwhile, Terence Blanchard “is helming music arrangements for the attraction’s queue. Terence is working with us to select songs from ‘The Princess and the Frog,’ and iconic themes from New Orleans. Like Tiana’s recipes, the music will combine a medley of instrumental ingredients to cook something worth savoring.”

Disney fans may recognize Terence Blanchard’s music as he played Louis the Alligator’s trumpet parts in “The Princess and the Frog.”

What Fans Can Expect From Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Disney Reveals NEW Details Surrounding Tiana's Bayou Adventure RideDisney

Disney Parks previously reported that the new ride would pick up where the beloved 2009 film left off, seeing how Tiana’s life is after the success of her restaurant debut and marrying Prince Naveen.

The storyline will follow Tiana as she purchased the salt mine and the surrounding areas from which the salt dome operated. Fans will see beloved characters from the film, including Tiana’s mother, Eudora, her husband, Prince Naveen, and the lovable alligator, Louis, who all helped Tiana revive the old salt mine and the surrounding land, allowing them to grow fresh new ingredients such as vegetables, herbs, and spices for her recipes.

As a thank you to her family and friends, and the entire community for their support, Tiana wants to throw a big Mardi Gras party. Unfortunately, things do not go as planned, so Tiana invites the Guests to meet at Tiana’s Foods instead to help her search for the missing ingredient.

The new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, will open at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California sometime in 2024.
